Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia When an individual comes to the Mission, they are met with love exactly as they are with no bias or judgement.

We are a FREE residential life recovery program for men, women and children experiencing domestic violence, addictions, sexual abuse, poverty, homelessness, and other life hurts. The Mission’s programs and services are offered to men, women and children, who are ready to make a permanent life change without regard to race, religion, age, social standing or where they’re from. MISSION OVERVIEW
The Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia (RMMG) is a faith-based, life recovery program for people dealing with all types of addictions, domestic violence, sexual abuse, poverty, homelessness, and other life hurts. For over 68 years, the Mission has provided a path of hope, redemption and empowerment through Jesus Christ to break the cycle of violence and abuse in families, while also giving aid to the hungry and homeless. The goal of the RMMG is to walk with those in need of physical, mental and spiritual healing through Jesus Christ, in order, for them to become the men and women God has called them to be. By providing them with the love, tools and accountability necessary to transition into a healthy and stable life, the Mission helps men and women go on to have a positive, productive impact on their families and communities. The staff, along with a team of volunteers, accountability partners, healthcare professionals, spiritual mentors and small groups work to provide a continual support network for those in the program. LIFE RECOVERY PROGRAM
The 12-month residential life-recovery program provides structure, training, discipline and accountability aimed at preparing residents for a return to their family and community as healed, self-sufficient, productive people. The recovery program is designed to enable residents to first identify the root cause and underlying factors of what they are experiencing, and then to gain the healing and tools to change their negative, self-destructive choices and behaviors. In the study/work program residents work hard through counseling, daily Bible study and chapel, weekly community recovery ministries attendance, classes in pattern-changing, healthy choices, boundary setting, building healthy relationships, parenting, and life skills, to overcome the sufferings of their past. They also begin to take responsibility for their future livelihood, building a solid work ethic along with job skills through the work therapy portion of the program. While in the program, the Mission also assists residents in acquiring medical, eye and dental care to help restore their overall health. Once a resident successfully completes all phases of the program, they may elect to remain at the Mission for up to three months during which time the Mission continues to provide housing and other essential needs while assisting the resident with securing employment and permanent housing. COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The Mission has a long history of providing support to hungry and homeless individuals, as well. The daily Breadline, in partnership with Loaves & Fishes Ministry, provides hot, boxed meals to homeless and food insecure individuals. The Mission also hosts holiday meals with delivery to shut-in's, elderly and other hungry individuals on Good Friday, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Eve. The Mission distributes hygiene packets, coats, Bargain Center items to the homeless and others in need, and in partnership with the American Red Cross, aids victims of residential fires with donations of household items from our Bargain Center.

✨Testimony Tuesday✨

Since beginning their life recovery journey here at the Mission, Leah and her children have discovered an even deeper love and appreciation for God's grace. For many years, Leah faced hardships that made it difficult for her to properly love herself. After leaving an abusive marriage and enduring three significant job losses, she and her children found themselves homeless, moving in and out of shelters. As a single mother, Leah did everything she could to hold her family together, but the weight of her circumstances became so overwhelming that Leah was ready to give up.

In that desperate moment, she turned to God in prayer and committed in her heart to trust Him with her future. God answered in an amazing way! He sent a kind woman who gave Leah and her children a temporary place to sleep and told them about the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia. Leah applied, and within just two days, she and her children began their healing journey at the Mission. What looked like the end of the road became the beginning of something truly wonderful for Leah and her children. God is so faithful and good!

✨Testimony Tuesday✨

Meet Taylor, one of the newest staff members of our Women’s Life Recovery Program team. Taylor has truly learned what it means to put Jesus in the driver’s seat of our daily lives and trust God to see us through whatever hardships we face in life. Now God is working through her to share His love and help equip women on their healing journey at the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia.

How have you seen God at work since starting your new role at the Mission?
I thought I had my life planned out, but God had a different direction for me. What I thought was a detour was really His divine redirection, leading me toward a life I never could have planned for myself. God brought me into a season of peace, purpose, freedom, and genuine love. Through His grace, He blessed me with a job that brings me joy, purpose, and fulfillment. I love what I do! I love the life that I have been given and am grateful for the love I am able to give and receive every day. Sometimes God changes the plan because He knows the destination is greater than anything we could have imagined for ourselves.

Is there a Bible verse that speaks to your heart when you think of this new opportunity to serve at the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia?
Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

We're glad to have you here, Taylor!

✨Testimony Tuesday✨

God is truly at work in Alicia's life during her healing journey here at the Mission. Alicia spent most of her life carrying the weight of fear, depression, and survival. Abusive relationships brought her pain and deep hardship. It was her deep love for both of her daughters that motivated her to keep trying and push towards a better way of life. God led her to the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia. Since beginning life recovery, here at the Mission, Alicia has developed a personal relationship with Jesus and and is on her way towards healing and lasting transformation.

The Rescue Mission has provided a safe space for Alicia and her youngest daughter. The compassion and support of the Mission's program staff helped lift her out of a pit of deep despair. With a greater sense of purpose, Alicia is thankful for how God worked through the Mission to save her life. She has a new start in Christ, hope, and a brighter future for herself and both of her precious daughters. Praise God!
