Red Clay Ranch Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc.

Red Clay Ranch Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc. RCR is dedicated to the compassionate care of rescued, unwanted or neglected horses. Ours is a sanctuary and we do not often seek to adopt our horses out.

Red Clay Ranch Equine Retirement is a well-established, fully licensed horse sanctuary and rehab facility located in Chattooga County, Georgia. We accept horses that are neglected, unwanted, and/or abused in addition to those who have been retired. Many are not able to be ridden lessening their ability to be adopted otherwise. Unless a horse is able to be fully rehabilitated and/or trained to ride

, we are their forever home. We are a 501 (c) 3 organization, accepting tax-deductible donations. Red Clay Ranch Equine Retirement is unique in that all property is privately owned. Funds are used for the direct expenses related to the care of the horses in our program such as veterinary care, feed, hay, bedding, and farrier services. NO SMOKING, NO FIREARM, NO PRIVATE PETS!

Junior demonstrates his skill at getting every. last. grain. of his breakfast--even those he drops on top of the fence rail. He is probably also plotting how to tear down said fence rail. A true master mind at mischief, this one.

The only way to trim feet is in the shade. Our wonderful farrier comes every single Wednesday to trim toes at RCR. Yesterday was so abysmally hot that he could only do six. The humidity was stifling. Again, we thank our wonderful volunteers Gena, Janiya, and Jesse who helped Lexi in the scorching heat. God bless your generous hearts!
