THE STORY OF THE CHEVAL WOMEN’S CLUB
by Gloria St. Clair-Brown
In 1993 a few innovative and sage women established the Cheval Women’s Club, (CWC). The purpose of the club was to bring female residents of Cheval together to foster new friendships and create a sense of community. Strong interest in the club by neighboring community women resulted in invitations for membership being extended to thos
e communities. At one point in CWC’s history, there were more than 140 members. Women of all ages (over 18), and careers joined the club to enjoy the activities, friendship, camaraderie, and service to the community. The CWC is guided by a set of By-Laws and Standing Rules. There is an election annually for CWC members to elect the Executive Committee Officers. Monthly the Executive Committee, Past Presidents and various Committee Chairwomen meet and plan future club activities. The CWC meets monthly from September to May. The dinner meetings are held at the Cheval Club. At the dinners you can expect engaging speakers, makeup demonstrations, or musical entertainment. The CWC also gives back to the Greater Tampa Bay in the form of charitable donations and volunteerism. Come to a meeting and learn how to get involved! Contact:
