🎗️Childhood Cancer Awareness Month continues… 💛

Awareness is just the beginning.
Research is what moves us forward.

Clinical trials have played a major role in the treatment advances that have helped more children survive cancer. Today, thousands of children participate in research through the Children’s Oncology Group, helping researchers discover better, safer treatments for the children of today—and tomorrow. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is part of the Children’s Oncology Group, an NCI-supported network of more than 200 institutions working together on pediatric cancer research and clinical trials.

For us, this isn't just research—it’s personal. 💛 Cassidy was treated at St. Jude during her battle with medulloblastoma, but sadly, she lost her fight at just 9 years old. Her journey reminds us why continued investment in pediatric cancer research and clinical trials is so important. We carry Cassidy’s story forward in hopes that future children will have better treatments, more options, and more tomorrows.

Therapy dogs can bring comfort, joy, and a much-needed sense of normalcy to children facing the challenges of cancer treatment. 🐾💛

Cassidy was blessed to meet and befriend Puggles, a therapy dog through St. Jude’s Paws at Play Program. Puggles quickly became a special friend, and Cassidy even had the opportunity to share a cover photo shoot with her pal! Their time together was a welcome highlight and joyful distraction as Cassidy faced countless procedures, tests, and treatments.

Therapy dogs can support pediatric cancer patients in so many meaningful ways—from providing emotional comfort and support during procedures to helping with pain and symptom management, taking medications, movement after surgery, and even end-of-life care.

For Cassidy, Puggles was more than a therapy dog—he was a bright spot during some very difficult days. 🐾💗

Cassidy was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in the fall of 2019. With incredible courage and strength, she faced surgeries, treatments, and countless challenges throughout her journey. Tragically, Cassidy lost her battle on December 25, 2020.

Although her time with us was far too short, Cassidy’s bright spirit, beautiful smile, and “Always Be Happy” attitude continue to live on in the hearts and lives of everyone who knew and loved her.

We share Cassidy’s story to help shine a light on pediatric cancer, raise awareness, and inspire hope for children and families facing a cancer diagnosis. 💛
