August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD).

IOAD is an international campaign to take action on overdose. It aims to honor the lives of the loved ones who have died from overdose, show support to those in recovery from substance abuse, and raise awareness about the risks of drug overdose.

Overdose affects every community, but it can be prevented. Be part of the solution by speaking openly, treating others with respect and care, and supporting those around you.

Close out the summer with an afternoon of fun in the park. 🌻

The 7th Annual Page Valley Sunflower Festival takes place next weekend on Saturday, September 5th! You can find the address and time on the image above.

The Sunflower Festival has entertainment and activities for everyone, including hayrides to the sunflower fields, a butterfly garden, pony rides, live music, stilt walking, food vendors, craft vendors, and more. 🦋 When you’re done in the park, visit downtown Luray for dining specials and shopping sales.

There is 5$ fee for each car entering the park.

SAMHSA’s “Talk. They Hear You.” campaign aims to provide parents, caregivers, and educators with the resources they need to talk early and openly with children and alcohol and substance use.

It’s okay if you feel like you don’t have all the answers. Opening the conversation is enough.
