June marks the beginning of Hurricane Season and preparedness is an act of care for ourselves, our families, and our communities. 💙

As healers, helpers, and leaders, we understand that emergencies impact mental health just as much as physical safety. Being prepared can reduce stress, increase resilience, and help communities recover stronger together.

This month, we encourage everyone to:

• Review emergency plans
• Check emergency kits
• Update medications and important documents
• Support elders and vulnerable neighbors
• Prioritize emotional wellness during times of uncertainty

It is not too late to prepare.

Thank you to all of the healers, advocates, and community members continuing to support wellness and resilience in our communities.

A different day is ahead across the state, and we will see cooler air around. Happy Tuesday, North Carolina! A cold front passed through, and we will see partly sunny skies for the most part today, with increasing clouds west. A couple of isolated showers are possible this morning, followed by some scattered showers mainly west of Greensboro into parts of the Charlotte/Foothills, and some Eastern Mountains this afternoon and evening. Highs today will be in the 70s and some 60s for most areas of the state.

Expect mixed clouds and sun today as cooler and drier air filters in from the northeast with highs in the upper 70s. A passing disturbance aloft may produce isolated light showers this afternoon, mainly in northeast SC. Otherwise, expect a dry day with unseasonably cool nighttime lows in the upper 40s to low 50s inland and mid-50s near the immediate coast.

With a very strong El Niño coming on, there’s a good chance we won’t go deep into this list. As I always say though, it only takes one!

We in trouble if we get to Nana!
