Here you will find how the Robeson County Partnership can serve ALL children birth to five years of age, their families, and caregivers! has collaborated with local agencies to provide quality activities and resources for ALL children birth to five years of age, their families, and caregivers. Smart Start – a publi

c-private initiative that provides early education to improve the quality of child care – makes child care more affordable and accessible, provides access to health services, and offers family support. Currently, Robeson County Partnership for Children, Inc. has 10 funded activities, and the goal is to ensure that young children enter school healthy and ready to succeed. The partnership also operates Exploration Station, which provides unique hands-on learning experiences and programs for children, families, teachers and childcare providers. Additionally, Robeson County Partnership for Children, Inc. provides a NC Pre-Kindergarten program designed to provide a high-quality educational experience to enhance school readiness for eligible four-year-old children.

For the third year in a row, Governor Josh Stein will officially recognize September as Smart Start Month in North Carolina.
For more than 30 years, Smart Start has helped children, families, and communities thrive across all 100 North Carolina counties. Throughout September, we'll be celebrating the impact of the Smart Start Network and sharing stories, resources, and opportunities to connect with the mission.

Early Literacy is a priority for Smart Start!
To celebrate Smart Start Month and the importance of Early Literacy, Robeson County Partnership for Children(RCPC) is kicking off our annual Book Drive! The books donated will help to supply our take a book, share a book library that is located outside of our Smart Start Resource Center. Books and resources are placed here for the community to share and take as needed. Resources and books are not required to be returned. This place and space is also going to be recieving a makeover soon and we would love your help to make sure it is fully stocked!
HOW CAN YOU HELP? To help supply our take a book, share a book library, we are collecting books good for ages 0-5. For example, board books and/or picture books. Books can be dropped off and placed in the BIG YELLOW BOX in the front lobby of RCPC or the Exploration Station. Drop off donations starting September 1st-30th. If you have questions please contact Ashly Lambert at 910-738-6767.

Robeson County Partnership for Children alongside of the entire Smart Start Network is deeply saddened by the passing of Dolly Parton.
Her belief that every child deserves access to books and the opportunity to develop a love of reading transformed the lives of countless children and families.
Through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, the Smart Start Network is honored to help bring free books and the joy of reading to children across North Carolina—helping families build connections, spark curiosity, and nurture a lifelong love of learning.
We will continue carrying forward her vision and remain committed to helping children build strong foundations for lifelong success. Her legacy will live on every time a child opens a book and discovers the joy of reading.
