🐾 Rotary of Lumberton Program Recap 🐾

This past Tuesday, our club had the pleasure of hearing an update from the Robeson County Humane Society. We learned more about the incredible work being done in our community, including recent adoption successes and ongoing spay and neuter initiatives that are making a meaningful impact for animals in need.

We also received information about the upcoming John P. Williamson Memorial Golf Tournament, a special event that supports the Humane Society’s mission and programs.

Thank you to our speaker for sharing these important updates and for the continued dedication to improving the lives of animals in Robeson County! 🐶🐱

Our Rotary of Lumberton programs continue to inspire, inform, and connect our community thanks to outstanding guest speakers who share their time and expertise.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Renae Collins and Robbie Brayboy of Robeson Community College, Jill Cox, President of Communities In Schools, James Freeman of the Emerging Technologies Institute, Trevor Johnson of the NC Beverage Association, and Sarah Griffin Green, Farm Bureau Grant Recipient, as well as Representatives of the Lumberton Cheerleading Team, for delivering engaging presentations and meaningful insights.

Your work is making a difference across education, innovation, youth support, workforce development, and community programs — and we are grateful for the opportunity to learn from each of you. 👏

Join us as Rotarian Bill Tubbs serves as program chair and welcomes Jef Lambdin, the dedicated Rumba on the Lumber Coordinator, as our featured speaker.

A member of the Robeson Road Runners since 2006, Jef has helped keep our community moving for years. Since 2014, he has been the driving force behind Rumba on the Lumber — skillfully juggling the countless details that make this beloved festival such a success (sometimes literally — he is a mime!).

Jef’s energy, creativity, and passion help make Rumba unforgettable, and our community is better because of his commitment. We look forward to hearing the story behind one of Lumberton’s signature events — you won’t want to miss it!

Annual New Year's Breakfast meal!!

Our January 6 meeting will feature two speakers from the UNCP Thomas Entrepreneurship HUB.

Elizabeth (Beth) Wilkerson, Executive Director of the UNCP Thomas Entrepreneurship HUB, will share how the HUB supports local entrepreneurs through business advising, incubation space, and training opportunities. With more than 18 years of experience supporting small businesses, including work with the SBTDC, Beth is passionate about helping entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses efficiently—without having to learn everything the hard way.

Ed Hunt, Kate B. Reynolds Coordinator at the Thomas College of Business and Economics and the Thomas Entrepreneurship HUB, will discuss his work in grant development, business development, and education. A member of the Lumbee Tribe of NC, Ed brings over 30 years of experience in agriculture and community development, with a focus on food security and rural community growth.

We look forward to an informative program highlighting entrepreneurship, education, and economic development in our region.

🎁 Toy Drive Success! 🎁
The Rotary Club of Lumberton is thrilled to share the success of our Christmas Social & Micro Project benefiting the Robeson County Foster & Adoption Program!

Thanks to the generosity of our members and friends, we collected and wrapped 50+ new gifts for local foster children K–12. 💛💙
Our meeting was filled with holiday cheer, teamwork, and the joy of giving back to a cause that truly matters.

A huge thank-you to everyone who donated, wrapped, and helped spread Christmas joy to children across Robeson County. Together, we made a meaningful difference! 🎄✨
