Our Rotary Speaker on Tuesday will be Wayne Horne, and he will be introduced by our Program Chair today, John Franklin. Wayne will be sharing information about Data Centers in our area.

City Manager Wayne Horne

Wayne Horne has served as City Manager of Lumberton since 2005, bringing decades of local government experience to the position. A Lumberton native, Horne, began his career in municipal government in 1969 as a tax collector and assistant to the city manager before serving 31 years as Town Manager of Red Springs. He holds degrees from Pembroke State University, East Carolina University and Fayetteville Technical Institute. Horne was the first recipient of the Lumber River Council of Governments Outstanding Manager Award in 1984 and was named Region N Manager of the Year in 2021.

Our Rotary Speaker will be Rayla Craft, and she will be introduced by our Program Chair today, Katie Fountain.

Rayla Craft is the Outreach Coordinator for Book from the Nook at the Museum of the Southeast American Indian at UNC Pembroke. She is a senior at UNC Pembroke studying American Indian Studies with minors in Religion and Entrepreneurship. A proud Lumbee woman from Robeson County, Rayla is passionate about connecting children and families with Native stories, culture, and community resources. Through Book From the Nook, she works to promote literacy and representation by bringing Native-authored children’s books and cultural learning opportunities into the community. Rayla is also passionate about serving others through her church and mission work and hopes to continue creating opportunities that encourage young people to learn, grow, and see themselves represented in the world around them.

Our Rotary Speaker today will be Rev Ted Wilson, and he will be introduced by our Program Chair today, Bob Fisher.

Pastor Ted has been a Lumberton resident for over 9 years residing in the Long Branch area just south of downtown. He is the pastor of Lumber Bridge Baptist Church and serves the community as a handyman/contractor. Ted earned his bachelor’s degree from Fort Wayne Bible College in Pastoral Ministries and Bible with a special minor in music theory and composition. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He has served the west Lumberton community as Board Chairman of My Refuge ministries, a food pantry/soup kitchen for several years and directed the ministry through its necessary but regretful closure.

The board has retained its 501 (C) 3 status and wishes to reopen under the new name Provision 5&2. The name is derived from the time when Jesus multiplied the 5 loaves and 2 fish into a feast for the hungry masses that came to the wilderness to hear Him

Grassroots & Political Director at NC Values

Isaac Burke serves as Grassroots & Political Director for NC Values. Isaac has been actively involved in grassroots politics for the past decade at the local, district, and statewide levels.

Most recently, Isaac served as the political director for a statewide Lt. Governor campaign in which he traveled to all 100 counties of North Carolina, helped build and maintain an impressive grassroots network, and directed volunteer operations across the state. Isaac brings a substantial amount of experience to the table in grassroots campaigning and effective neighbor-to-neighbor activism.

Isaac has lived in Wake Forest for the past 15 years and is an active member at a local Baptist church.

Bruce Davis is the program chair this Tuesday, and he has lined up his son,
Rob Davis to be our speaker.

Rob began as Robeson County Attorney in late June 2019. He is a Lumberton
native who has been practicing law for 31 years; twenty-four in Bladen
County and nine here. He brings a wealth of legal experience to the
county. When he began with the County, Rob worked with retired Superior
Court Judge Gary Locklear, who was then Interim County attorney, for several
months.

Davis, a Lumberton High School graduate, is the son of Lumberton Mayor and
Rotarian Bruce Davis and his wife Pat. Rob's wife, Jessica, a Bladen County
native, is the Robeson County Board of Elections Director, and they have two
children, Cassidy, and Lilly.
