Next week is National Salvation Army week, and The Salvation Army Texas South Plains is hosting the event below. If you are in need of assistance, this is the place to be. They will be even serving a free lunch. Thank you Salvation Army for all that you do for the Lubbock Community.

Join us this Wednesday, May 13 from 11am–1pm at The Salvation Army of Lubbock, 1614 Ave J, as we celebrate National Salvation Army Week! ❤️

• Hope Tote Food Boxes (build your own box, 1 per household while supplies last)
• Free linens
• Free light bulbs
• Free lunch & refreshments served from the Salvation Army canteen

VSC's May Garage Sale was a HUGE success! Thank you to the staff, resident's, and community for coming out and supporting the people who call Lubbock State Supported Living Center home. Stay tuned for the June's Garage Sale! If you are wanting to donate your gently used items please contact Community Relations at 806-741-3632 and we can make arrangements for pick up/drop off's. Every contribution big or small is greatly appreciated.

Today is the day, tell your family and friends! Come out to Community Relations from 9-2 and see what new items we have put out! All proceeds goes directly to funds used for the resident's of the Lubbock State Supported Living Center. Everyone is Welcome!

On Thursday May 6th, Volunteer Services Council was out at the first annual Big Heart Bash hosted by Volunteer Center of Lubbock at the YMCA of Lubbock. Lot's of student's were in attendance, and were eager to learn VSC's mission for the Lubbock State Supported Living Center. Director of Community Relations Jeanne Gutierrez and Volunteer Coordinator Amy Guzman also made a new contact, Albert with the The Salvation Army Texas South Plains was in the booth next to us... and we hope to do more events with you Albert!

~Volunteer Service Week Spotlight~

Caitlin Hagler received her 10 years of Volunteer Service Certificate today.

Caitlin has been a Lubbock State Supported Living Center employee for 15 years in the CTD Department (Competency Training and Development).

A Fun Fact about Caitlin, she has a new addition to her family. A beautiful black baby horse! Or the proper name is a foal. No name has yet been picked, but she is a beauty.
