What Remains After is an interactive installation that centers around the lumen print process—a camera-less photographic method that uses sunlight and organic materials such as leaves, petals, and natural forms. These prints are inherently fragile; unless stored with care, they fade and change over time. This transience becomes part of the work’s message, highlighting cycles of change, the value of attentive care, and the impermanence of both image and environment.
The installation features large-scale reproductions of original lumen prints alongside the sharing of physical lumen prints. Each time a lumen print is viewed – they will begin to fade. The installation embraces transformation and loss as natural parts of making and viewing, encouraging visitors to consider their own relationship to nature, image-making, and time.
The work leans into ideas of stewardship, observation, and slow attention—suggesting that what we notice, tend to, and share has meaning beyond permanence. In this way, the project connects personal experience to broader environmental and social reflections without prescribing a single narrative.
