The Lowell Schools Fund is a Project LEARN initiative that raises private funding to support high-impact programs in Lowell Public Schools.

By mobilizing donations from individuals, alumni, foundations, and corporate sponsors, the Fund helps fill gaps.

📣 Lowell Educators — Don’t Forget!

Interested in applying for a 2026–27 Lowell Schools Fund Educator Grant? Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, September 16 at 4 PM for a virtual Zoom Info session!

We’ll walk through the grant opportunity, answer questions, and help you better understand what makes a strong application. Grants of $250–$1,000 are available to Lowell Public Schools educators and eligible school staff to support projects that extend classroom learning, foster creativity, and provide new opportunities for students.

🎉 Introducing the Lowell Schools Fund Educator Mini Grant!

We’re excited to launch the Educator Mini Grant Program for SY2026–27, providing $250–$1,000 awards to support innovative projects and initiatives that enhance classroom learning, spark creativity, and give students meaningful opportunities to build new skills.

📚 Who can apply?
LPS K–12 educators and school staff, including Community Schools Managers.

📅 Applications open: August 31
⏰ Deadline: October 9 at 7:00 PM
💡 Informational Webinar: September 16 at 4:00 PM

Principals and Assistant Principals are not eligible to apply, but we encourage school leaders to share this opportunity with educators and staff!

It's time for an Alumni Spotlight!

Meet Shamir Rivera-Quintal who has called Lowell home her entire life. Shamir grew up in four different Lowell neighborhoods, attended C.G. McDonough Arts Magnet School and Lowell High School, and is now raising her own family here.

A graduate of Lowell High’s Latin Lyceum program, Shamir has always been deeply connected to her community through education, culture, and service. Her lived experience as a lifelong Lowellian continues to inspire her work and her commitment to helping the next generation thrive.

The 7th Annual Lowell High School Career Speaker Week is coming up the week of March 30, and we’re excited to invite Lowell High School alumni from every career path to participate.

This annual event connects current students with alumni who share their experiences, insights, and advice about different professions, inspiring students to explore new possibilities for their future. Whether you’re just starting out or well into your career, your journey can make a difference.

At 16, Jack Kerouac made Lowell proud by scoring the winning touchdown in the 1938 Thanksgiving Day game against Lawrence High, a moment that still inspires our community today. His talent drew attention from college scouts, yet Jack chose to pursue academics and athletics on scholarship at Columbia University.

Stories like Jack’s remind us why supporting Lowell students through the Lowell Schools Fund is so important—helping nurture the talents and dreams of our youth.
