This year’s theme, Community Building & Belonging, reminded us of the importance of working together to create stronger, more welcoming communities.

We were proud to recognize our 2026 honorees: Rockland Trust, Mercy Anampiu Cheboryot, Richard (Dick) Howe, and B.F. Butler Middle School.

Creativity can be a powerful tool for connection, belonging, and well-being. 🎨

A week ago, Arts Elevate brought together local artists for a full-day Embedded Community Artist Training, preparing participants to bring their creative practices into nonprofit and community settings across Greater Lowell.

Through hands-on workshops, shared learning, and guidance from experienced facilitators, artists explored how to build meaningful partnerships and use their work to support the communities they serve.

This evening, our community comes together at UTEC for Celebrate Giving 2026: Community Building & Belonging. An evening dedicated to the people, organizations, and partnerships helping make Greater Lowell a place where everyone can belong and thrive.

We look forward to a keynote conversation with Turahn Dorsey, President & CEO of the Eastern Bank Foundation, and to celebrating this year’s GLCF honorees for their contributions to our region.

New Arts Elevate grant opportunity! 🎨

Applications are now open for Arts Elevate: Embedded Community Artist Grants, supporting Greater Lowell nonprofits interested in partnering with professional artists to create sustained, relationship-centered creative programming for young people.

These partnerships are designed to use creativity to support youth wellness, emotional expression, and belonging while building meaningful connections between artists and community organizations.

From scholarships to innovative programs and resources, legacy giving provides a meaningful way to invest in the future of Lowell and the young people who will shape it.

The Lowell High School Class of ’74 did just that by establishing a permanent scholarship to support future graduates.

Learning has always been part of Lowell’s story. 📚

From its roots in the American Industrial Revolution to generations of newcomers who have shaped the city, Lowell has continually evolved as a place where knowledge, opportunity, and community come together.

Today, the Lowell City of Learning partnership is building on that legacy by strengthening lifelong learning opportunities and connecting the people and organizations that make them possible.

And in December 2025, Lowell reached an incredible milestone: becoming the first UNESCO-designated Learning City in the United States.
