🐾 Our Foster Needs a Little Help Restocking! 🐾

300 potty pads. ONE WEEK. 😳💩

Yep, you read that right!

One of our amazing fosters, who regularly takes on entire litters of puppies, just went through 300 potty pads in ONE WEEK thanks to a litter that arrived with some nasty intestinal parasites. 🫣

And potty pads weren’t the only thing disappearing! These babies weren’t feeling their best when they arrived, so our foster also went through her entire stash of FortiFlora and Nutri-Cal trying to help get these little ones back on track.

The good news? ❤️ The puppies are finally making a comeback! They’re starting to feel better, and we’re so thankful to see them turning a corner.

The bad news? Our foster’s supply stash has officially been wiped out! 😂

We’re hoping our wonderful supporters can help her restock so she’s ready for whatever the next litter throws her way!

🐾 Our biggest needs right now:

Puppy potty pads (LOTS of them!)
Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora
Nutri-Cal nutritional gel
Taking on entire litters is no small task, especially when they arrive sick. Our fosters pour so much time, energy, and love into getting these babies healthy, and having supplies on hand makes a HUGE difference.

Even a single package of potty pads helps!

🛒 You can donate directly through her Amazon Registry here:

❤️ Every donation, big or small, is incredibly appreciated!

Thank you for helping us keep these little bellies happy, these puppies healthy, and our foster stocked up for the next round of tiny chaos! 🐶💕

Gainesville, VA
Meet Tigger — our very own little Hundred Acre Wood adventurer!

This adorable orange kitten has plenty of personality, curiosity, and bounce. Tigger is ready to pounce, play, explore, and then curl up for a well-earned nap.

He is still a young kitten, so his forever family should be ready for all the fun that comes with kitten life: climbing, scratching, zoomies, toys, play biting, curiosity, and plenty of interactive play and enrichment.

If you are interested in adopting Tigger, please complete an application:

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PDAR/Cat

His adoption fee is $165.

Because Tigger is too young to be neutered prior to adoption, his adopter will be required to sign a spay/neuter contract and have him neutered at the appropriate age unless otherwise instructed by their veterinarian. The adopter is responsible for scheduling and paying for the procedure.

Once proof of neuter is provided to the rescue, $100 of the $165 adoption fee will be returned to the adopter via PayPal or check.

TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY: MEET BLIZZARD!

Remember Butterscotch? We have a new name for this sweet baby! Once we realized he was actually a handsome boy, he officially became Blizzard!

Blizzard’s journey shows just how much a little love and medical care can change a life. He was found outdoors in Texas, struggling to survive as part of a cat colony. When we first took him in, he was underweight and lethargic, losing his fur, and scratching himself raw from severe mange and ear mites.

But his biggest hurdle appeared right after he arrived here in Virginia. We noticed he was starting to leak pus from his mouth, and a vet visit revealed that Blizzard had severe dental abscesses that had ruptured, leaving his mouth raw and infected. He was in an immense amount of pain and surely would have died on the streets without intervention.

Thanks to your incredible support, Blizzard is unrecognizable today. After a heavy round of antibiotics, his mouth infection is completely gone. To make sure he stays healthy and pain-free, he is scheduled for a dental procedure on October 26th to have the problem teeth pulled. Even better, his mange and mites are totally cleared up, his gorgeous fur has grown back beautifully, and he has finally put on some much-needed weight!

Thank you so much to every single person who donated to his care. You truly saved his life, and he is now happy and out of the woods!

Millsboro, DE:

Meet Spooky, a 9-week-old terrier mix who clocks in at a whopping 4 pounds. She might have a spooky name, but she is actually the sweetest treat you'll find this October!

Spooky is incredibly fun, loving, independent, and likes people. She’s looking for a forever home where she can keep her humans happily busy with puppy playtime and endless cuddles.

We expect her to stay under 30 lbs when she's all grown up, making her the perfect compact sidekick for all your adventures.
If you’re looking for a little Halloween magic without any of the tricks, Spooky is ready to melt your heart.

If you are interested in adopting there is an application below! This is the first step. We do not schedule meet and greets without an approved application.

98% of our adoptables come from out of state. There are higher fees associated as we have to pay to have the animals transported. We are a non-profit rescue. Any access revenue made is used to care for animals with additional medical expenditures that would otherwise result in adoptable dogs having to be left behind and euthanized.

The adoption fee for this dog is $550 which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter. You will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will need proof of sterilization from the vet in order to receive the $100.

Northern VA:

Are you ready for a good time? Adventure? Fun? Meet Catalina! This spunky pug mix is an excitable girl who likes to play. She is around 1 years old and like most pugs, full of personality. She is good with other dogs and has been good with the kids she has met.

Catalina has not always had the easy life she deserves. She spent the majority of her life living on a chain in Texas and was eventually surrendered after neighbors repeatedly expressed concern about the conditions she was being kept in. Now she is getting the chance to experience life as a loved indoor dog and is doing wonderfully.

Most of our dogs are rescued from high-intake shelters or directly from difficult situations in South Texas, where stray and unwanted animals are incredibly common. Your adoption fee helps cover the significant costs required to bring these dogs to safety.

Paws Deep Animal Rescue is a registered nonprofit rescue. Any funds received beyond an individual animal’s expenses go directly toward caring for other animals in our rescue, including those with significant medical needs whose adoption fees may not come close to covering the cost of their care.

Your $500 adoption fee helps cover:

• Transport: Safe transportation from Texas to our local foster homes. Transport alone typically costs approximately $200–$230 per dog.

• Vetting & Preventive Care: Spay or neuter surgery when age appropriate, core vaccinations, deworming, heartworm testing when old enough, and microchipping.

• VCA Medical Partnership: Every adoption includes a complimentary first wellness exam at a participating VCA Animal Hospital within the first 14 days after adoption. VCA also provides limited coverage of up to $250 for certain minor illnesses, such as kennel cough or ear infections, diagnosed during that initial two-week period.

Washington D. C.
Meet Dolly!
This poor 3-year-old girl was found abandoned and fending for herself, but she hasn't let a rough start ruin her sweet spirit. At just 12 pounds, she is the perfect little size to curl up right in your lap, which happens to be her favorite place in the world.
She is incredibly happy, loving, and gets along great with kids, cats, and other dogs. Because of whatever she went through before being rescued, she takes a minute to warm up to new faces. She isn't aggressive at all—she’s just a gentle soul who needs a little time to realize she’s safe and can trust you. Once she opens up, she will completely melt into your arms.
She is officially up for adoption and looking for a family who will give her the patient, loving home she truly deserves.

If you are interested in adopting there is an application below! This is the first step. We do not schedule meet and greets without an approved application.

Update: Adoption Pending.
Several applications received. Accepting backups.
Hi! My foster mom says I am extra special because I am a polydactyl kitten, which means I have extra toes! Only about 3% of the cat population worldwide has this special feature. Look at my big paws—it just means I have more toes to love you with and extra-wide mittens for catching toys. Check out how cool they look in my photos!

My name is Thumbelina, and I am an 8-week-old orange tabby girl with a wonderfully sweet personality.

Besides my extra toes, my orange tabby markings add to my overall charm. Did you know that approximately 80% of all orange tabby cats are male, and only about 20% are female? Between my coat and my paws, I am a pretty unique little girl!

I can be a bit observant and like to take my time getting my bearings in a new space. But don't worry, I am incredibly sweet and curious once I feel safe. I am already very good at quietly making myself the center of attention just by being my adorable self.

Since I am still a young kitten, my forever family should be prepared for normal kitten life with me. Once I settle in and get comfortable, you can expect plenty of climbing, scratching, zoomies, curiosity, and lots of fun playtime together.

If you are interested in adopting Thumbelina, please complete an application:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PDAR/Cat

Her adoption fee is $170.

Because Thumbelina is too young to be spayed prior to adoption, her adopter will be required to sign a spay/neuter contract and have her spayed at the appropriate age unless otherwise instructed by their veterinarian. The adopter is responsible for scheduling and paying for the procedure.

Once proof of spay is provided to the rescue, $100 of the $170 adoption fee will be returned to the adopter via PayPal or check.

All of these lucky animals found their families this past weekend! ❤️

10/11/2026

Nokesville, VA

They say some dogs never lose their hope, no matter how dark things get. Jack is one of those dogs. 💔✨

At just 7 months old, this sweet boy has already spent over half of his life living inside a loud, cold shelter kennel in Arkansas. Week after week, he watched people walk past his run. No one stopped. No one showed interest. To the rest of the world, he was just another face without a future.

But Jack refused to give up. Every time a human walked by, he would desperately jump up at his shelter gates, begging someone to look closer. He was trying so hard to say, "Please, look at my potential. I am a good boy." 🛡️❤️

Little did he know, those desperate paws on the gate caught our eye, and we couldn't shake him. We sent his picture to one of our amazing fosters, and without hesitation, she said YES. 😭🙌

This Saturday, Jack finally stepped off the transport truck right here in Virginia. He arrived with unsure eyes, but a heart still absolutely full of hope. He has never known what the big world looks like outside of a small shelter kennel, but he has always known one thing: he loves people.

And oh, does he have potential! In less than an hour after arrival, Jack already learned how to sit.
He is currently in his foster home learning house manners and basic training. It’s not his fault he never had the opportunity to learn how to live in a house before—he just never had anyone to teach him. Jack is incredibly food-motivated, so eager to please, and so deeply loving. His favorite thing in the world is simply being held and loved.
At just 7 months old and 37 lbs, Jack has a lifetime of love to give. We are so incredibly proud that his dreams of a real life with people who cherish him are finally coming true. Now, he just needs that one final piece of the puzzle: a forever family to see his potential and give him the chance he has been praying for! To show them what a good boy he is and can become.

If you are interested in adopting him, more information can be found on his Petfinder profile.
