❤️🤍💙Today our Cub Scouts and their families took part in Wreaths Across America at the Lovettsville Union Cemetery; working with the community to place 342 wreaths to honor those who served in our armed forces.❤️🤍💙

🫡As each wreath was laid, volunteers said the veteran’s name and thanked them for their service. 🇺🇸

👏💧A big thank you to Brunswick Water Treatment Plant for hosting our Wolf Den this week! 💧👏

🐺 Our Wolf Cubs (2nd grade) worked through their Spirit of the Water elective adventure, learning just how important a force water is in our lives, by completing the following requirements:

1️⃣Discover where the water in your home comes from.

2️⃣Discuss how water can become polluted.

3️⃣Share some ways you can conserve water in your home.

4️⃣Discover how water in your community is treated to become safe to drink.

Yesterday’s December Pack meeting was jam-packed with fun!

🇺🇸 First, the Bear Den led us in our opening flag ceremony and then taught us the song “You’re a Grand Old Flag”.

📕Then we had a special visitor from the Lovettsville Historical Society, who taught us all about or local history during the Civil War.

🍰 We wrapped up the meeting with our annual Pack 962 Bake Off! There were so many tasty treats to enjoy, all made by our very own cub scouts. Congratulations to our 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners!

Yesterday was another successful Scouting for Food year. With the help of Troop 962B & Troop 962G, Cub Scout Pack 962 walked through the Town of Lovettsville and collected 3,354 lbs of donations for the local food pantry‼️

We would like to extend a big thank you to the Lovettsville community for their generosity. 🤗

‼️REMINDER‼️ Food pantry donations are being picked up tomorrow, 11/8/25 ~ please place your donations on your doorstep by 8am.

This morning Cub Scouts from Pack 962 hiked around town dropping Scouting for Food reminders at your front door‼️

➡️ Cubs will return NEXT Saturday morning - 11/8/25 - to pick up your donations and deliver them to our local food pantry.

🚨 Please leave your donated items out on your front porch by 8am on 11/8, for pick up!!

🙏 Help us stock our local food pantry with non-perishable foods and toiletry items, the need is great this year.

🚫Please remember NO glass and NO expired food.

Our October Pack Meeting was so fun learning about fire safety, thanks to Lovettsville Volunteer Fire and Rescue!!

👨‍🚒 We greatly appreciate the volunteer firefighters for taking the time to visit. They shared a lot of critical information about fire safety and answered all the questions our Cub Scouts had. 🚒 Once they completed their presentation, LVFR members gave us a tour of the fire engine! 🤩

‼️Be sure to visit Lovettsville Fire and Rescue this Sunday, October 12th during their open house to tour the station, see more EMS vehicles, and learn more about how they serve our community‼️

🐺This week our Wolf Den (2nd grade) set off into the woods to complete their Paws on the Path Adventure❗️

⚜️This adventure is a fantastic opportunity for our young Cub Scouts to explore the wild while learning safety in the outdoors and respect for nature. Cubs complete the following 5 requirements as part of this adventure:

1️⃣ Identify the Cub Scout Six Essentials. Show what you do with each item.

2️⃣ Learn about the buddy system and how it works in the outdoors. Pick a buddy for your walk.

3️⃣ Identify appropriate clothes and shoes for your walk outside. Do your best to wear them on your walk.

4️⃣ Learn about the Outdoor Code and Leave No Trace Principle for Kids.

5️⃣ With your den, pack, or family, take a walk outside for at least 30 minutes to explore nature in your surroundings. Describe four different animals, domestic or wild, that you could see on your walk.

⚜️Our Webelos Girls had an exciting start to the scouting year at their Den meeting tonight!

They completed their Bobcat Adventure, named a new Denner, welcomed a new Den Chief from Scouts BSA Troop 962G, built water bottle rockets for our annual derby, AND enjoyed some delicious soda floats! 🫡 ✌️ 🚀 💦🥤🍦
