Join us as we honor Cindy M. Lopez at our upcoming WLALApalooza 2026!

Cindy M. Lopez is a lifelong public servant and advocate for educational equity. She spent her legal career as a Deputy Attorney General in California, where she specialized in representing state licensing agencies and prosecuting disciplinary actions against medical professionals. During her tenure at the Attorney General’s Office, she also played a leadership role in the Attorney General’s Honors Program, supporting the development of junior attorneys through mentorship and programming. She also authored a bill to protect the public from doctors convicted of sexual offenses.

Outside of her legal work, Cindy served on the board of MOSTe (Motivating Our Students Through Experience), a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring young girls in Los Angeles County. There, she developed the organization’s college access initiative, helping girls navigate the path to higher education.

After retiring from the AG’s office, Cindy founded Legal Education Access Pipeline (LEAP), an award-winning nonprofit that prepares underrepresented students to apply to law school and succeed in the legal profession. Since its launch in 2020, LEAP has achieved around a 91% law school acceptance rate for its fellows and has helped over 150 students get into law school.

A proud Dodgers and 49ers fan, Cindy enjoys traveling and listening to live music under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl.
