Binx fka Luciano was 1 of 3 cats that were dumped in the parking lot of a local off leash dog park in the San Fernando Valley. They were immediately taken to our vet at Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group for exams, f***l, vaccines, combo tests, dentals. Binx immediately got an application and went on a trial. He was the perfect fit!
We can only say okay to situations like Binx and his friends because of the rescue ranch where we can house cats (and MANY others in need). We have an amazing opportunity to expand the ranch so we can help even more animals. Please donate, any amount helps. Don’t underestimate the value of contributing a little. And please share. We need more eyes on the work we do so we can do more.

Rescue teaches you how to improvise. Hope For Paws said they were going out to rescue 2 dogs that were chained and living under a trailer in the desert. Well…when they got there they discovered it was not 2 but 5 dogs. Of course we scrambled and shuffled and made room. Thank you Katie from Hope For Paws for grabbing all of them! And thank you to Dr. Lockhart & the team at Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group for always accommodating the unexpected and never turning us away when they’re always so busy! They all got the works and are ready for adoption. A couple of them will come to our weekly adoption event tomorrow:

There’s always so much going on in the background, too much work to be done and no chance to share until after the job is done. That’s the case with Leo fka Bacio Macho. He was found as a tiny, underaged, unweaned puppy abandoned in a church a few hours north of Los Angeles. This little cherub was brought to one of our fosters where he was bottle fed, nursed back to health over several weeks and several vet visits. He finally was stable and strong enough to come to our adoption event and he immediately met the perfect humans just for him! Thank you andrea louise & Austin for giving this little angel a life filled with love! Thank you Angelica & Edie for taking such great care of him during that delicate time.

Animals surrendered , abandoned, pulled from kill shelters, THEY ALL NEED A PLACE TO GO! Please donate to help us seal the deal on this property. More space will allow us to help more animals. Horses, pigs, ducks, chickens/roosters, dogs, cats (secure indoor/outdoor structure), goats… This space is over 5x the size of our current space which is just 2min away.
We are currently in a short term lease here so we can clear it and have some time to fundraise. Continuing to rent it is not an option. And we don’t want the weight of another mortgage. We’ll need to secure the space and then work on permits and building out the structures. We’ll move as fast as possible!

Chevy is happy now. He lived a miserable life on a chain for years. He fell out of a truck and was dragged, suffering severe injuries. His rescue video is coming out soon from Hope For Paws
He’s one of the lucky ones. His days are happy. His tomorrows are bright. This is rescue.
Please help us continue to help more dogs like Chevy…we are desperately trying to secure the 28acre lot 2min from our current location. It’s over 5x the size and that means more space to save more lives. We just need more people to pitch in. If a lot of people help just a little, we can get to the goal! Osprey was happy to see me last night when she was returned from her 30hr failed trial. She was too comfy in the car so we chilled for a bit before she rejoined her buddies.
What I think we learned…maybe she’s not good for an apartment in a busy neighborhood. She might settle in faster in a home with a yard (she can be p**p shy) and maybe another dog or cat companion. She’s never been away from her littermates before and this was her first time being an only pet. She’s sensitive, a deep thinker, smart and intuitive so she’ll be best with someone calm and confident.
10-ish months old, healthy, spayed, approx 40lbs, gsd/malinois/husky & a sprinkle of many other breeds according to a DNA test of her twin sister. Crate trained, good on leash when she’s familiar with an environment, sleeps through the night, gentle play style, very treat motivated.
