Demo Day recently showcased New Mexico’s deep tech ecosystem!
New Mexico Demo Day brought together LANL postdocs, NM LEEP companies, fellow DOE LEEP programs, New Mexico startups, investors, industry leaders, and members of the broader innovation community to showcase emerging technologies and explore pathways to market. Presentations spanned AI & Quantum,
Advanced Energy & Materials, and Aerospace, Defense & Infrastructure, reflecting the breadth of deep tech innovation taking shape acro ss New Mexico.
Deep tech entrepreneurs took the stage to test the commercial potential of their ideas, connect with investors and prospective partners, and identify next steps toward real-world application. The technologies sparked conversations around market opportunities, partnerships, investment, and commercialization.
The event welcomed colleagues from across the DOE Lab-Embedded Entrepreneurship Program (LEEP) network, including West Gate at the National Laboratory of the Rockies, Cyclotron Road at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and Chain Reaction Innovations at Argonne National Laboratory, strengthening connections across the national lab innovation ecosystem and creating opportunities to share ideas, experiences, and commercialization pathways.
The event recognized two standout teams with awards to support their continued commercialization efforts.
Congratulations to our New Mexico Demo Day award recipients:
SONIA DAGAN, PhD | CEO & Founder, Kytyra
Kytyra is developing a drone detection and classification layer for next-generation Counter-UAS systems, with low-latency sensors engineered to overcome the environmental and operational limitations of existing technologies. Kytyra received the $10,000 New Mexico Demo Day top company prize to support the company’s continued growth and commercialization.
MATT GREEN | LANL Postdoc, EcoFite
The LANL EcoFite team, led by Sangeeta Negi, B-IOME, is advancing climate-intelligent agricultural technologies designed to strengthen crop resilience and food system security.
EcoFite received the $25,000 Feynman Center TechMat prize to further test and validate the technology’s agricultural potential.
New Mexico Demo Day underscored the momentum behind the state’s growing deep tech economy and the importance of connecting national laboratory research and emerging startups with customers, investors, industry partners, and resources that can help move promising technologies to market.
