"Chamisa school may be closing?!?"

Just saw this on another feed. Does anyone know more about what is going on or have an opinion on the topic?

Join the discussion about the school construction project!

The decision made by the School Board will affect the entire Los Alamos and White Rock community, not just those with school-aged children.

Attend the final two community input meetings:

➢ Thursday Oct 15 @ Piñon 5:30pm
➢ Monday Oct 19 @ Chamisa 5:30pm

Here's a great easy opportunity to pay it forward:

Miquela, is a 16 year old girl desperately in need of a bone marrow transplant. A few months ago she was like all of our children – looking forward to prom, picking out colleges, and playing volley ball- she probably played some of your daughters. Then she got sick. She has a rare blood disease that makes her own body destroy her red and white cells. She literally has had hundreds of transfusions in the past few months just to stay alive. Her body has not responded to any of the treatments they have tried. There are no more medicines to try. If she does not get a bone marrow transplant she will die.

None of her family members are matches. There is going to be a bone marrow registry drive this Monday between 11-2 at Fuller Lodge. It would be great if you would come and register as a potential bone marrow donor. You do not have to give blood. The way they test you now is with a swab in your mouth. Your information will be added into the national bone marrow registry and perhaps someone will be a match for Miquela.

Please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested.
