Precious Life Shelter Precious Life Shelter, founded in 1988, was developed to meet an ever-growing need to provide shelter for pregnant women who are homeless.

Precious Life Shelter is an emergency, transitional, and single parent efficiency program providing a safe environment for the pregnant woman with no place to live. The program was designed to address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of women preparing to meet the future challenges of supporting a family. Our programs include career planning, life skills development, health and nutritio

n education instruction in childbirth and parenting, and weekly case management. Professional counseling and drug diversion and counseling are provided, off-site, as needed. The goal of Precious Life Shelter is for each woman to regain stability and become self-reliant.

Two very special faces in the history and heart of Precious Life Shelter: Don and Theresa Sherrin.

Don and Theresa had a deep love for life and a heart for mothers in crisis. They believed every life was precious and that every mother deserved to be surrounded with love and support.

That belief helped shape a mission that continues more than 37 years later.

Today, Precious Life Shelter continues to walk alongside mothers and their babies, providing a safe place to call home and support as they work toward a brighter future for their families.

We know so many of you knew and loved Don and Theresa, and we would love to hear your memories of them.

Look how far one small beginning can grow!

The house in the first photo is still part of Precious Life Shelter today!

The original home was moved farther back on the property and expanded, including the addition of a second story. Today, it is home to our main office and emergency shelter.

It may look different now, but it remains part of the mission that began all those years ago.

More than 35 years later, that mission continues to grow, one mother and one baby at a time.
