While summer break is around the corner, Food Finders is already preparing for the 2026-2027 school year through our Food4Kids Program, which provides weekend meal boxes to students who may otherwise go without food when school cafeterias are closed.

On Friday, Food Finders received 25 pallets of fresh produce from our partners at . While many people were starting their weekend, our team was already hard at work making sure this food reached communities that need it most.

Thanks to the dedication of our Partner Agency Coordinator, , 15 pallets of produce, along with noodles, bread, cakes, and chips, made the nearly three-hour journey to a partner agency in Victorville.

Located in a true food desert, this agency serves families who often face significant barriers to accessing fresh, nutritious food. The gratitude they expressed reminds us why food rescue matters. What could have gone to waste is now nourishing hundreds of people in a community where healthy food options are limited.
This is the power of partnership, logistics, and compassion in action.

📚 Together, We Can End Weekend Hunger.

Food Finders is proud to launch our June Food4Kids campaign with a goal of raising $15,000 to prepare for the 2026-2027 school year.

Food4Kids provides nutritious weekend meal boxes to students who depend on school meals during the week. In 2025 alone, the program distributed 285,480 pounds of food to students attending 47 Long Beach Unified School District schools.

Every donation helps us purchase and pack nutritious foods that will fill Food4Kids boxes when students return to school this fall. Help us fill the first box of the new school year.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s National Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, Food Finders collected and sorted nearly 59,000 pounds of donated food to help support our nonprofit partner agencies and the families they serve.

Every Wednesday, Food Finders hosts a Pop-Up Distribution at Admiral Kidd Park specifically for our nonprofit community partners, helping rescued food quickly reach the communities they serve.

Here are some photos from a recent pop up featuring agency partners including St. Lucy’s, Un Mundo, The Guidance Center, Prep Ed, Long Beach Food Coalition, Long Beach Community Table, and Noel Community Programs picked up food for distribution throughout the community. Food Finders also delivered directly to Franklin Middle School to support local students and families.

Together, these partnerships help reduce food waste while increasing access to nutritious food across Southern California. Thanks to our amazing volunteers who helped to facilitate this distribution.
