Pathways to Independence - Los Alamitos, California Pathways to Independence began 31 years ago to help young women who come from poverty, abuse and/or tragic circumstances.

The mission of Pathways to Independence is to transform the lives of single young women, from disadvantaged backgrounds, through education, therapy, mentoring, housing, and healthcare, to break the cycle of poverty and abuse. Pathways to Independence is a 501(c)(3) corporation # 33-0148082 recognized by the Internal Revenue Service and qualified to allocate receipts for tax-deductible donations. Pathways is governed by a board of directors and is audited annually.

A masterpiece of service!

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible AvalonBay Communities Team who volunteered during their Spirit of Caring in Action mural project at Pathways to Independence.

Led by AvalonBay Creative Director Richard Butler, the team transformed a wall in our gym with a beautiful mural celebrating remarkable women throughout history and the impact they've had on the world. An inspiring reminder to our clients that they, too, can leave their mark.

Special thanks to our talented artists: Richard Butler, Matthew Crowe, Morgan McDorman, ViKtoria Wiseman, Justin Kanter, Victoria Gamboa, Daniela Diaz, Bianka Carpio, James Keefe, and Tracy Citrano. A special shout-out to Tracy Citrano for coordinating this amazing partnership.
