That's what Vibrant Families has been building for years through mentorship, relationships, and a community that refuses to give up on the next generation.

On October 8, we'll gather for an evening of impact, inspiration, and hope as we celebrate the lives being changed and cast a vision for what's next.

Because the future of our community isn't something we inherit.

It's something we build. Together.

Recently, we've had the opportunity to spend time in conversations around some of the young men currently involved in the juvenile justice system here in Seminole County.

And honestly, it's heartbreaking.

It's easy to look at a charge, a report, or a headline and see a problem that needs to be solved.

What we saw were kids. Young men with dreams, gifts, and potential who made decisions that are now carrying heavy consequences.

Some 15 or 16 years old.
Some are 17, getting ready to be charged as adults.

And while accountability matters, so does the question: "What happens next?"

Because eventually these young men will return to our neighborhoods, our schools, our workplaces, and our community.

The question isn't whether they'll have a future. The question is what kind of future they'll have.

That's why the conversations happening with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office and the opportunity to build something meaningful for these young men matter.

A program focused on mentorship.
A program focused on relationships.
A program focused on helping young men see beyond their current circumstances and begin building a different path forward.

We believe every young man deserves the opportunity to learn from his mistakes, grow from them, and become more than them. We're looking forward to sharing more as this partnership develops because changing a future starts by believing one is still possible.

One thing that made us smile this month? Watching the first group of boys we started with as fourth graders get ready for high school.

That's wild to think about.

When they first came to The Legacy Club, they were little guys. Now some of them are taller than the mentors. Their voices have changed. They've grown up right in front of us.

But honestly, that's not even the best part. The best part is seeing the relationships.

Watching a young man walk up to a mentor and give him a hug.

Hearing conversations that have gone from awkward to automatic.

Seeing trust that took years to build.

When we started Vibrant Families, we weren't trying to create another event or another program. We wanted to create the kind of relationships that every young person deserves to have.

The kind where somebody knows your name.

Knows your story.
Checks on your grades.
Celebrates your wins.

And shows up when life gets hard.

✨Today was a remarkable day at — The Legacy Club.

We believe mentorship goes beyond conversation; it encompasses introduction, exposure, and opportunity.

Our mission is to help young men discover new pathways to a brighter future.

Today, our at-risk and fatherless young men experienced a behind-the-scenes look that many may never have the chance to see, thanks to the incredible hospitality of the and Mr. Kenneth Bentley.

Our young men explored helicopters, tactical vehicles, boats, and the Aviation Unit. They learned how law enforcement prepares to serve and protect our community during emergencies.

This exemplifies what partnership looks like: opening doors, expanding vision, and creating moments that remind our young men of the possibilities that lie ahead.

A huge thank you to .lemma and the entire Special Operations Team for your outstanding efforts in supporting our young men and helping us build brighter futures.

We are turning obstacles into opportunities..

What a special night! 🙌🏾

was honored to receive the Q1 NextGen Award from , and we are incredibly grateful for their generosity, support, and belief in our mission as we continue serving at-risk youth and fatherless young men throughout Central Florida through mentorship, education, and exposure to new opportunities and experiences.

One of the most powerful moments of the evening was watching members of NextGen Orlando write personalized, handwritten encouragement cards to each of the young men in our program. As summer begins, these cards will remind our boys that people are thinking about them, believing in them, and cheering them on.

We can never underestimate the power of words. In a world filled with negativity, a little encouragement, genuine connection, and knowing someone believes in you can change everything.

Thank you, and the entire NextGen Orlando team, for helping us build brighter futures and showing our young men that their community is behind them.

We can’t wait to continue partnering together!

When you think back to the experiences that helped shape you into the man you are today…what were they?

Was it sports?
A mentor?
A first job?
A coach?
A conversation?
A trip you never forgot?
Someone believing in you before you believed in yourself?

At VFAM, we believe young men need more than advice. They need experiences.

They need opportunities to try new things, build confidence, fail safely, be challenged, and see a bigger vision for their life.

That’s why we expose our boys to new environments, new conversations, and new opportunities every chance we get.

So we want to ask you: What’s one experience you believe every young man needs to have?

And even better — tag a business, organization, or person that should be part of helping make those experiences happen for the next generation.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is never free.

And while many of us spend today with family, around the grill, and making memories, we also pause with gratitude for those who gave everything so future generations could have opportunity, freedom, and hope.

It’s also a reminder that our investment into the next generation matters…because somebody before us sacrificed for them too.

One of the greatest honors of VFAM is getting to walk alongside the moms and grandmothers raising these young men.

Recently, one mom shared that VFAM gives her son positive men he can talk to, learn from, and look up to through the good, the bad, the ups, and the downs — while constantly reminding him that he’s worthy and capable of more.

Another shared how much it means to watch her son grow in dedication, commitment, and responsibility simply by continuing to show up.

And honestly…that’s what this is all about. Not just building better young men, but supporting the families behind them too.

To every mom and grandmother trusting us with your boys, thank you.

A few mentoring nights ago, everybody had finished eating and was hanging out when Eli quietly stood up and started cleaning.

Picking up plates.
Throwing away napkins.
Gathering forks and cups.

No one asked him to do it.

At one point he looked over and asked if it was okay that he was cleaning up and of course our answer was absolutely.

And honestly…we made an example out of him in the best way possible.

Because real men don’t just sit around waiting to be served. They serve too.

It may seem small, but moments like that matter. Especially when they come from a young man simply doing what he feels is right without needing attention or recognition for it.

Eli has a light about him, and it’s been really cool watching him continue to grow and lead in quiet ways that impact the people around him.

Proud of you, Eli. 👏🏾

🔥Ayyyee…last night was OFF THE CHAIN!!!

At —The Legacy Club, we mentored our at-risk and fatherless young men around one powerful question:

“Who’s influencing you?”

We focused on two truths:

1️⃣ If you don’t choose your influences, your influences will choose you.

2️⃣ Every day, someone or something is influencing how you think, act, and make decisions.

HUGE thank you to Pedal for Progress for stopping by during their bike ride from Jacksonville to Miami raising awareness for homelessness. 🚴‍♂️

Also shoutout to Christian hip hop artist SYL for pulling up, performing, sharing his testimony, and pouring into our young men!!!🎤

Thank you to the West Sanford Boys & Girls Club and to our mentors who continue to show up and invest into our young kings.

We’re turning obstacles into opportunities. 💯
