An evening like Building Brighter Futures doesn't happen because of one person. It happens because an incredible group of people believes in something bigger than themselves.

From our board of directors and gala planning team to our mentors, volunteers, and everyone who worked behind the scenes, THANK YOU!

You gave your time, shared your talents, opened doors, invited friends, and helped create an evening that celebrated the young men at the heart of our mission.

And while the gala may be over, the work you make possible continues every single day.

We were honored to welcome Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith as our keynote speaker at this year's Building Brighter Futures Gala.

Chief Smith's presence was a powerful reminder of what can happen when community leaders come alongside organizations like Vibrant Families to invest in the next generation.

We're grateful for his leadership, his commitment to the Sanford community, and his continued support of our mission to break the cycle of fatherlessness.

At this year's Building Brighter Futures Gala, we had the incredible honor of presenting Travis Knight, Service Director of the West Sanford Boys & Girls Club, with the 2026 VFAM Inspire Award!

Travis has demonstrated what it looks like to lead with purpose, show up consistently, and invest in the next generation.

His commitment to our community, his partnership with Vibrant Families and The Legacy Club, and his passion for seeing young men grow and thrive have made a lasting impact.

And that's exactly what this award celebrates.

People who don't just talk about making a difference... they roll up their sleeves and make it happen.

Travis, thank you for your leadership, your partnership, and your continued investment in the young men of our community.

For our first-ever silent auction... WOW, did our community show up! 🙌

This year, we tried something new at our 3rd Annual Building Brighter Futures Gala, and the response absolutely blew us away!

From Jonathan Isaac of the Orlando Magic generously donating his personal game tickets to the incredible experiences and packages donated by local businesses, our community came together in a BIG way.

And together, we raised $3,780 toward Breaking the Cycle of Fatherlessness! 🎉

For our first year, that's a HUGE win!

But what makes it even more special is the partnerships behind it. People willing to open doors, share their resources, and find creative ways to invest in the next generation.

To every business and individual who donated, everyone who placed a bid, and everyone who helped make this possible... THANK YOU!

We're already excited to see what next year brings!

Can we take a minute to celebrate Jaden?!

At this year's Building Brighter Futures Gala, Jaden, one of our Legacy Club mentees, did something that makes most adults nervous... he stepped onto a stage in front of 250 people and helped open our biggest event of the year!

And what he shared was something special.

Jaden talked about what The Legacy Club has meant to him, the relationships he's built, and the difference it's made in his life.

But one of the most meaningful parts of his story wasn't just about him.

It was about his little brother.

Because of Jaden's experience, his little brother had something to look forward to. Something he wanted to be part of, too. And now, he gets to experience The Legacy Club for himself.

That's the kind of impact that goes beyond one young man.

Public speaking is one of the most common fears people have, and watching Jaden and so many of our young men step outside their comfort zones reminds us why these opportunities matter.

It's not just about teaching leadership. It's about giving young men opportunities to LEAD.

It's about creating experiences that challenge them, open doors, and help them discover what they're capable of.

And most importantly, it's about showing them that their voices matter. Their stories matter. THEY matter.

Jaden, we couldn't be prouder of you. Thank you for helping us kick off such an incredible evening and for reminding everyone in that room why we do what we do.

Fam... WHAT A NIGHT!!!

Our 3rd Annual Building Brighter Futures Gala was one for the books. A week later and we're still taking it all in!

250 people came together to celebrate what God is doing through Vibrant Families, hear the stories of lives being impacted, and catch a glimpse of where we're headed next.

And what a night it was!

We heard from our incredible sponsors and community partners, including Mitch Chubb of Chubb Law Accident & Injury Attorneys, who has stood beside us as our Title Sponsor for THREE consecutive years!

We celebrated people like Brian Smith, who generously opens his home for our Lake Days, creating unforgettable experiences for our boys.

We heard from mentors, partners, and mentees about the relationships being built through The Legacy Club and why this mission matters so much.

We even had one of our young men take the stage and play the French horn for the entire room! 🎶

And we were honored to hear from Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith, who shared just how important programs like Vibrant Families are to the future of our young people and our community.

But here's the part that still has us blown away...

Together, we raised $75,000 toward Breaking the Cycle of Fatherlessness!!! 🙌

SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS!

And while that number is incredible, what happened in that room was about so much more than fundraising.

It was about relationships.

It was about people hearing our story for the first time and asking, "How can I get involved?"

It was about longtime supporters continuing to show up, new connections being made, and a community coming together around a future where every young boy has a man who shows up for him.

That's what it means to experience the mission and invest in the future.
