We're excited to share that Washington state lead Kathy Cui and the WA team were recently able to provide the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle with 5 iPads and 5 Motorola Edge Tables for their patients! These devices will be utilized for Oncology Supportive Care at Fred Hutchinson, and to ensure that all their patients have access to telehealth services. Patients were identified by the clinical teams and the patient navigation program distributed the devices to the patients in need!

TeleHealth Access for Seniors was able to donate 3 iPads to the 80th St Residence on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, NY! These are brand new 10th generation iPads and we are excited for the residents to be able to use these. The 80th St Residence is the only Dementia and Memory Care focused assisted living facility in New York City. It has operated for decades and works with residents who have Lewy Body Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease, Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. It utilizes a household model with extensively trained dementia caregivers to provide the best possible living for residents.
Pictured from left to right are Netanya Catimbang (Recreation Director at 80th St Residence), TA4S Leader Hannah Verma, and TA4S Varun Subramaniam. The iPads will be used for resident programming (such as different forms of art therapy or intergenerational activities) and FaceTiming family and friends!

We are announcing a new policy change for our operations!
We appreciate everyone who has donated their used devices in the past - it has been a wonderful way to recycle old technology for helping others and preventing their accumulation in the landfill! We can personally attest to digging around in our homes and emptying out our closets for every last device possible to repurpose for someone in need.

We want to ensure the best possible technology in the best possible shape for all recipients of our program services moving forward! This means that from now on, we will be using 100% monetary grants and donations to purchase refurbished technology directly from vendors for quality assurance purposes. This way, we can 100% guarantee that all donated technology has been third party vetted! We will no longer accept used device donations, so please don't mail us any devices! If you have any questions about making a monetary donation to us, please contact us at [email protected].

We were able to provide 3 Android tablets to an assisted living and memory care center in Fairfield, California, called The Village at Rancho Solano. Their amazing staff, including Ms. Tanya Tull, reached out to us to secure some devices for their residents, many of whom felt lonely and isolated. The residents have been enjoying these Androids, and the staff have even helped residents communicate with their doctors via telehealth with the devices. One of the residents is featured in the first photo, while the regional manager of operations and Ms. Tull are featured in the second photo with our flyer! In addition, thank you to our California volunteer Tanya Bakshi who assisted us with coordinating this as well.

We are always looking for more clinics and assisted living facilities to work with - please reach out at [email protected] if you wish to secure some devices for your facility!

In Texas, TeleHealth Access for Seniors provided Harmony House in Houston with 20 brand new Android tablets. Sumin Choi, Prakul Suresh, Sumin Choi, Preston Witt, and Candice Biscoe worked to set up and execute this exchange. Harmony House is Houston’s transitional living facility that provides a low barrier housing option to homeless working men. Twenty tablets were donated so their demographic can attend their TeleHealth appointments. The tablets will contribute to Harmony House's goal to provide quality primary health care to homeless persons in Texas, through a supportive, drug and alcohol free community.

Georgia team leaders Leanne Jeong and Vi Huynh have been working at Grady Memorial Hospital's Cancer Center Acute Care for the Elders units over the last several months. They have been teaching elderly patients how to set up their MyChart accounts, schedule telemedicine appointments with their physicians, and set up video calls with their family in friends. Pictured is one of the informational flyers posted at Grady advertising their work to patients!
Great work! TeleHealth Access for Seniors is committed to improving health literacy as well as digital literacy for all. We have several resource guides on our website that are free to use, ranging from topics like how to set up an Android to how to use MyChart.

We're excited to have been referenced in a Forbes article titled "Transforming TeleHealth Access In the Post-Pandemic Era," written by the highly esteemed anesthesiologist Dr. Anita Gupta. In this piece, she discusses the benefits of telehealth, the associated accessibility challenges, and future directions for the field.

In the accessibility section, she writes: "About 18.1% of the American population receives Medicare and recipients are age 65-plus. Patients who are elderly may be slow to adopt new technologies and may require training to access and accept the telehealthcare model. Organizations like Florida-based non-profit, Telehealth for Seniors, provide seniors and low-income communities with devices, instruction and tech support to make telehealth easier for older patients. This patient resource has been utilized by healthcare organizations in 26 states and serves as a starting point to build on post-pandemic."

TeleHealth Access for Seniors' New York team brought 20 brand new Android 10.0 tablets for patients at the Union Plaza Care Center in Flushing, Queens, NY. The devices will benefit geriatric and low-income patients, many of whom are in rehabilitation care. Pictured is New York co-lead Vignesh Subramaniam at the dropoff.
This is our first time working with UPCC. The clinic's mission is as follows: "We provide warm, dedicated care, from short-term to lengthy stays, including a comprehensive rehabilitation department. Union Plaza is especially proud of our very successful pain care management program..."
This donation was made possible by a grant from the Grace Foundation.

TeleHealth Access for Seniors recently provided IMPOWER with 5 brand new iPads to expand their telehealth service delivery. IMPOWER is Florida’s premier telehealth provider for mental health, and substance misuse needs. We previously had donated to IMPOWER's "The Grove" program.
