Dobby has had a long road to recovery, and has surprised us along the way with his sweet and loving nature despite his rough beginning with us.
During his recovery, his fur started to grow back in…and grow and grow and grow! It became evident that this poor bunny that came to us half naked with his ears fully encased in ear mite debris was, in fact, an angora!
Dobby is now living his best extra fluffy life, waiting for a forever home ❤️

Is there anything cuter than a bunny cleaning their little face?!
Pom Pom is one of the sanctuary bunnies here at ORCA...what does that mean? It means that unfortunately, Pom Pom has a medical condition that make her ineligible for adoption, so the rescue keeps her in our care and pays for her medical needs. A foster takes care of her, which is just another reason why our foster program is so important.

Our sweet little Pom Pom. ❤️
Anyone who attended our events can tell you, Pom Pom loves attention and is always begging for more. This surprised us considering her beginnings: abandoned, all by herself in a house.
When we found out she was EC+, that of course wasn’t a deal breaker for Pom Pom’s future adoption aspects as it is an easily manageable condition. But then came the heart disease diagnosis - beginning stages. This is when we made the decision to accept Pom Pom into our permanent care as a Sanctuary Bunny.
Not long after we got the news from the vet about her heart, we heard from our friends down at Penny and Wild Smalls of South Florida that they had a senior EC+ bunny named Rusty who they wanted to find a friend for. They reached out to us and we told them that we had Miss Pom Pom! We showed a picture of Rusty to Pom Pom, and she said “SWIPE RIGHT!”
Although we are sad to see her leave as she is the sweetest, cutest, messiest bun, we are happy to see her try to find a husbun to live out the rest of her days with. Send your well wishes to Pom Pom and Rusty for a successful bond!!
