We take this day as a time to reflect on history and celebrate freedom -as we continue our lasting mission to rescue the lives of vulnerable animals. 🥤🍊 Meet Pepsi & Fanta 🍊🥤 Bonded Sisters | 7 & 11 Years Old | Looking for a Home Together Some dogs are friends. These two are family. Pepsi (7) and Fanta (10) are a beautiful bonded pair who balance each other perfectly. Pepsi, with her stunning tri-color hound coat, is playful, curious, and loves to explore. Fanta, wearing her gorgeous brindle coat, is gentle, laid back, and happiest when she’s close to her person. Where one goes, the other isn’t far behind. Pepsi may take a moment to warm up, but once she does, she’s friendly and fun-loving. She enjoys running, walks, and stretching out in the sunshine. Fanta is a steady, sweet soul who will quietly follow her favorite human from room to room, simply because she loves being near. She’s calm and kind, but still enjoys playtime and outdoor adventures. Both girls are: Housebroken Crate trained Dog friendly (Pepsi does best with slow introductions) Good with children Comfortable meeting new people Know “sit” and “paw” They love sunbathing, exploring the yard, going for walks, and then relaxing together after a day well spent. They truly complement one another — playful energy paired with gentle devotion. Bonded pairs are special. They offer built-in companionship, double the love, and the comfort of a lifelong friend by their side. Pepsi and Fanta have that kind of connection, and they’re hoping to find a forever home where they can stay together. It's time for another "Say Yes to the Dog"! WISH is looking for a foster family to help us save this guy from CACC (Chicago animal control): Camper!! The ONLY way these dogs get a future is when a foster sats, Yes!

Please email [email protected] OR visit www.wishuponarescue.org and complete a foster application if you are interested in saving his life!

Fosters must live in the Chicagoland area, and close enough to one of our vet offices (Glen Ellyn, Lombard, Geneva, Joliet, Lockport, New Lenox etc). WISH provides food, supplies, veterinary care, and training support to all of our fosters.

Looking to foster a dog but not these? Great! Let us know and we would be happy to match with a dog from our list of "want to saves" - dogs of every shape, size, age, and need!

Haylee is a one year old tortie with a big personality and an even bigger love for attention. This sweet girl was found as a stray at a local animal control back in April, and now she’s ready to leave shelter life behind for a home of her own. Haylee absolutely thrives on affection. She will happily soak in every compliment, chin scratch, and pet you have to offer. If you sit down, don’t be surprised if she’s instantly in your lap or weaving around your feet asking for more love. She’s the kind of cat that wants to be near her people as much as possible. When it comes to mealtime, Haylee is especially excited for wet food and proudly keeps her plate spotless every time. She also does well with other cats, making her a wonderful addition to a home looking for a friendly feline companion. With her beautiful tortie colors, affectionate nature, and loving personality, Haylee is more than ready to find a family that will spoil her with all the pets and cuddles she deserves.

Our fosters go above and beyond every single day to make sure our animals are safe, loved, and included in their lives. Whether it’s late-night feedings, vet visits, training, or bringing them along on errands, their dedication never goes unnoticed.

Benita’s little face is a perfect reminder that rescue doesn’t stop when an animal leaves the shelter—it thrives because of the incredible people who open their hearts and homes. 💙

To all of our fosters: thank you for the extra miles you walk, the sacrifices you make, and the love you give. We couldn’t do this without you. 🩷🐶 🐈

Little Jefferson (in the cone) has been on quite a rollercoaster since joining us from CACC about a month ago. We initially took him with a plan for an emergency front leg amputation after the veterinarians at CACC found a gnarly, necrotic, bone-exposed wound after they shaved off the extremely matted fur coat he was found stray wearing. (Un?)fortunately, he wasn't able to have the emergency amputation because he was so anemic he was not stable enough for surgery. So his foster got to work feeding him meat,spinach, and a handful of antibiotics and medications, while bringing him in for frequent bandage changes and bloodwork rechecks. By the time he was stable enough for surgery, by some miracle his wound and broken toe bones had decided to basically heal themselves! So he is currently still casted while we give the bones and wound a little more time to see - but - it doesn't look like he will need to lose his leg! 🤞 He will be going back for a recheck on the leg Monday, and a neuter/dental on Tuesday this upcoming week. He has certainly learned how to enjoy his new life!

Here he is going for a stroller ride with Bunnie (fka Farrah), a wish foster fail who is a tripod! She got tired on the walk and hopped in with him. ❤️
