✈️ 🇺🇸 Happy Birthday U.S. Air Force! 🇺🇸 ✈️

On this day in 1947, the United States Air Force officially became an independent military branch! Before 1947, military aviation was managed under the U.S. Army.

World War II proved that air power wasn't just a supporting tool—it was a decisive, strategic force that needed its own specialized command.

To match the rapidly growing demands of jet technology and global defense, the National Security Act formally launched the USAF.

From the Wright brothers' first military flyer to modern stealth jets and global humanitarian missions, thank you to the airmen who keep our skies safe.

Despite this horrible tragedy 25 years ago, we Americans stood firm and united in patriotism. Color didn’t matter, political affiliation didn’t matter. Faith didn’t matter. Sadness was expressed by all. Prayers were said in many languages, yet, no matter how different the words sounded, we were all saying the same prayers. Sadness and grief are universal. So is love, courage, and the need to protect.

The bravery we witnessed in the aftermath of September 11th was awe-inspiring. Like nothing I have ever seen. Millions of Americans instinctively and without hesitation, offered themselves in service to this nation. Whether it was serving in the armed forces, as a first responder, as a good neighbor or friend, or even as a stranger doing whatever he could in whatever situation he found himself in at that moment, practically everyone played some sort of role in service or help to another during this horrible time. Bravery, kindness, and patriotism was seen in every household and on every street corner.

Our men and women in uniform formed an unbreakable unity that resulted in tirelessly saving lives, protecting what was left and nourishing us all with hope, and every American wanted to help in some way too. These unforgettable displays of unity, love and sacrifice are what it means to be an American and what our great Nation should continue to emulate. Let us all be forever grateful to those that unwaveringly continue in that mission. And let us always remember with great sadness the lives that were taken.

This great tragedy brought us all together. It made us impenetrable as a nation and it saddens me to see now how far we have separated in such a short time. When we say “never forget” we truly must never forget. We must never forget what happened, we must never forget the losses, we must never forget the lessons we learned from it, we must never forget the unity it created. Just because it happened years ago and we recovered as a nation, doesn’t mean we forget and carry on. We must never forget because that’s what keeps us strong. God Bless our men and women in uniform. God Bless our first responders. God Bless America and Her ability to persevere. May God always protect us from tyranny and terrorism. 🇺🇸❤️

Our great nation's beliefs and Rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness were affirmed and secured by years of bloody fight and continued on well after declaring Independence in 1776.

185 years later in 1961, former President Ronald Reagan said "Freedom is never more that one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free."

From 1776 to present, and beyond, always remember, FREEDOM IS FRAGILE and FREEDOM IS NEVER FREE. Keep the men and women overseas in your thoughts as they continue to serve while you and your families celebrate Freedom and Independence. God Bless the United States of America and may we always be grateful for the cost of our Freedom. 🇺🇸 ❤️ 🙏🏻

JUNE 14th ... FLAG DAY ... LET’S NOT FORGET WHAT IT SIGNIFIES:

The flag of the United States represents FREEDOM and has been an enduring symbol of the country’s ideals since its early days. Americans also remember their LOYALTY to the nation, reaffirm their belief in LIBERTY and JUSTICE, and observe the NATION’S UNITY.

I love my country, those who defend and honor it, and those who live according to what it means to be an American. Happy 250th Birthday my beautiful Flag. May you forever wave. God Bless America and may He heal our nation from divisiveness and those who seek to destroy us. 🇺🇸🙏🏻❤️

Remembering June 6, 1944 ... D-Day

In the year 2000 I traveled to France. Part of my journey was to visit Normandy and the five beaches, as well as the American Cemetery. This was one of the most emotional experiences of my life. I still remember how I felt walking on the sand and down to the water's edge. I stood there trying to envision the sadness and horror that once existed right below my feet. I cried thinking about the lives and youth lost, families changed forever. I was so emotional, so moved, I will never forget that experience. And we must never forget these moments in history. We must always share their significance, or one day the sacrifices will be forgotten. We cannot ever let that happen.

Armed Forces Day is part of a week-long tribute that was first established in 1949 and stemmed from the unification of our military forces under the Department of Defense.

On this Armed Forces Day we honor the men and women who serve in our Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and Space Force, as well as our National Guard and Reserves.

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS THOSE WHO SERVE.
