Little Chucky was stuck in a hole for a couple of days, buried up to his neck in mud. Thankfully and heard him crying. They worked quickly digging him out. Being an hour away I asked if they could take him to where there could start warm fluids until I could arrange
transportation. Thankfully .lattimer.37 was transporting another fawn for me and was able to pick up Chucky (it takes a village transporting these babies). Chuckys surface wounds will heal in time, his eye is better today, it was very swollen and full of mud yesterday. My concern is his legs.
They were completely stiff yesterday in the tucked under position. Could be loss of circulation or muscle damage from struggling.
After proper medication, heat therapy, massage therapy they are a little more looser. I'm hoping a few more days I can get him standing. If you would like to help me help them I have links in my profile. Thank you so much for your support.

7 more fawns this weekend!
This little one will be ok. The homeowner was able to grab their dog off before major damage.
Not the homeowners fault. Deer jump fences having their babies in backyards during the night.
Homeowner wakes up and let their dogs out as usual to find a newborn fawn. I want to give a huge thank you to Shannon,Rachel, Amy, Diane and John . I am the deer rehabber but they are the ones running all over Western NY and beyond transporting the fawns for me. If you're in the area you know Rochester, Jamestown, Letchworth, Penfield, Fredonia, Wyoming county, Erie county, Niagara, the region is endless. I'm covering my two counties and about 6 surrounding counties. Many of our NYS Department of Environmental Conservation officers also drive a distance to help transport. It takes a village to save these babies. Thank you to everyone, this weekend was nuts

Outside fawns have the bottle rack pretty good but I bring extra bottles just incase. I will give you an update soon but as of now Ive taken in over 40 fawns with 20 in my care. It was a very cold wet spring, many fawns came in lethargic and sick. I'm really behind but I wanted to mention my go fund me campaign. I have an $8,500 hay order coming up and an electrical job in my hayloft to store the hay, I still have things to do in fawn pen, I'm going through milk, medication and everyday supplies. If you would like to help I have the go fund me link, PayPal and Venmo. Thank you so much for your support and kindness.

Let's talk about newborn fawns. Mom leaves them very early in the morning and majority of the time doesn't come back until after dark. Most people never see her and that's ok. Her milk is very rich which allows the fawn to lay there ALL DAY ALONE. If a fawn is quiet and content it has a full belly. If it doesn't nurse during the night it will be up wandering and crying early the next day because it's hungry.
They don't drink water or eat anything, just mom's milk. When mom leaves her fawn the fawn tries to follow but can't keep up so the fawn drops wherever it is which means it could be in the road, sidewalk, near pool, near porch, shopping center, under car, at a school, playground, park, absolutely anywhere. If the fawn is in a dangerous area such as the road pick it up and move it to the side about 15-20ft away from road. Do not interact with the fawn. Mom will come back.
When you see a fawn laying alone please don't touch it. Newborn fawns don't have complete fear yet of humans and if you start interacting with them they will get up and follow you.
Yesterday I had many calls about people interacting with fawns, petting them, giving them a bottle, walking with them, once done playing with the fawn they call me for help. At this point I can't make the proper decision if the fawn needs help or not because you interrupted the natural process. I don't know what the fawn was doing before you stepped in and now it's following you.
Please leave them alone. If you're concerned about a fawn please call your states fish and game department or google wildlife rehabilitation in your city and state. Most importantly leave them alone

It’s been a crazy weekend! ! have 25 fawns, 6 outside, 9 in stall and 10 in crates. The weather was tough. Feel like temperature was 43 with pouring rain that felt like ice. Not the weather for newborn babies. Also I really need to spread the word, if you find a fawn laying in the road (obviously not injured) PLEASE just lift it up quickly and put it directly across about 15-20ft . Do not interact with the fawn just put it down and leave. It will lay back down and wait for mom to come back AFTER DARK. Do not take them home assuming they are abandoned, they are not.

Nathaniel is very focused on his morning bathroom routine, trying to rub his back legs together like the big boys do during the rut without tipping over 😂

Today started at 5:45 with my first fawn call, it is now 9pm and I had 42 calls today which is not over yet 😵‍💫Eight new fawns today. Many reasons, moms hit by car, couple attacked by canines, one sickly, and a couple walking around crying all day very skinny/ dehydrated. If you would like to help me help them I have Go fund Me, PayPal or Venmo links in my profile. I truly appreciate your support. I can't do the number of fawns that come in every season without you. Thank you so much ♥️

Rescue #10 little guy wandered into the back of a Dollar General store and laid down. Looking on the map I couldn’t find a safe place close by to put him. It was a big Walmart shopping center with another plaza. When putting a fawn back you have to keep it close to where you found it because mom knows where she left her baby. Unfortunately this was a dangerous area to leave him. I wasn’t sure where he walked from. Rescue #11 was found from a picture on social media. Man had the fawn in a shopping cart at Tractor Supply 😕 Thankfully DEC officer Kinney got him. PLEASE do not take a fawn that you are concerned about before talking to a deer rehabber or your state’s fish and game department.

My little Grumpy! He's such a character, he reminds me of a little old man.
When I first got him his eyes were more squinty which made him look grumpy. He beats to his own drum
