Big news for the Tri-Valley! 🌿 TVC has permanently protected 331 new acres of wildlife habitat and open space in Doolan Canyon and Springtown Preserve.

These two new conservation easements are helping keep our region's wild and scenic lands connected and thriving for generations to come.

In Doolan Canyon, 131 acres link up with land already protected by TVC, creating a wildlife corridor where animals can travel safely between the places they need to live. In Springtown, 200 more acres protect rare alkali wetlands and the plants and animals that depend on them.

The glassy-winged sharpshooter has been found in 40 California counties, including through infested grapevines sold in the Tri-Valley. 🚨

This insect, though small, poses a huge threat as it can spread the incurable Pierce’s disease.

In response, the Pierce’s Disease and Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter Board at the California Department of Food and Agriculture has committed $820,000 toward a three-year effort to track and eradicate the pest.

Did you know that local bobcats are living a secret life, right in our backyards?

Bobcats use South Livermore's vineyards as hunting grounds (especially in late fall and early winter) when fallen grapes attract gophers, one of their favorite prey.

There's a story unfolding in a place where you don't expect something like this to take place. But it happens all the time. It just takes a closer look.

Local wildlife photographer and videographer Vishal Subramanyan is exploring the connection between these wild cats and the vineyards, parks, and neighborhoods they roam, through a documentary set to be released early next year.

Invasive golden mussels have been discovered at Lake del Valle near Livermore, prompting the East Bay Regional Park District to impose a 30-day quarantine on watercraft that have been in the lake.

Golden mussels are native to Asia and can spread quickly. They can clog pipes, interfere with water infrastructure, damage equipment, and compete with native aquatic species. California first identified them in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta in 2024, and they have continued to spread.

For boaters, one of the most important ways to help stop the spread is simple:

💧 CLEAN your boat and equipment
🚰 DRAIN all water
☀️ DRY everything completely before moving to another waterway

Thanks to 9 incredible donors, we surpassed our 925 Gives goal with Three Valleys Community Foundation, raising $1,150 for Youth in Nature and helping connect even more Tri-Valley 4th graders to the open spaces they call home.

We’re in the final hours of 925Gives, and we’re counting on our community to rally behind Tri-Valley kids!

There’s still time to help us unlock some BIG extras in this year’s fundraising drive:

🏆 +$250 if we raise significantly more than the year before
🏆 +$250 if we raise the most among participating nonprofits
🎁 +$50 match every hour for one randomly selected donor giving at least $50

Every dollar helps bring the Discovery: Youth In Nature program to more 4th-graders, giving them the chance to explore, get curious, discover wildlife, and build a connection with the place they call home.

Today is 925Gives! Let’s make today count. 💪🏻

Your gift can help Tri-Valley Conservancy bring our Discovery: Youth In Nature program to even more local 4th-graders.

Here’s what your donation can provide:

🧒 $75 — One student’s participation in Youth In Nature
🎒 $150 — Backpacks, field guides, and binoculars for a class of approximately 20 students
👩🏼‍🏫 $250 — A stipend for our credentialed educator serving one classroom
🚌 $1,000 — Bus transportation for one classroom

Every dollar raised will help us give more kids the chance to explore, discover, and connect with the natural world.
