Went for a weekend drive to the Ford Piquette plant in Detroit for their annual model T birthday party. Brakes felt a bit spongy on the way there, so I planned to check when I returned home. In the first block after leaving Piquette, went to stop and nothing. Grabbed the handbrake and...pop, nothing! A quick right turn saved the day. My D Type is a mishmash of Morris 8 and TC hydraulic bits, but what are the odds both primary and backup failing at the same moment? The reason for the hydraulic failure was the steel line going to the left front had a tiny crack at the MC union probably due to vibration. Judging from the wear marks on the linkage, something was going on here for a while, but all felt normal til yesterday.

So my PSA is: "check your brakes!"

When local channel 7 arranged to spend the morning with us a few weeks ago, we were curious what the result would be, as we covered a lot of topics! Cars got center stage due to the Woodward Dream Cruise going on this weekend. It's pretty cute!
