The Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund would like to remind anyone interested in applying for this year's scholarship that the application window will close TOMORROW, March 31st, 2026 at Midnight PDT.

We encourage applicants to carefully review the eligibility requirements, including the new requirements for 2026 listed below.

In addition to the requirement to major in aviation or an equivalent field, applicants for the 2026 scholarship:

- Must have completed at least ONE FULL YEAR at an accredited 4-year college/university program located within the United States.
- Must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Unfortunately at this time, high school students are NOT eligible.

Last year, the scholarship reviewed a record-breaking 750+ applications, and as a result, we have decided to increase the standards for the 2026 season. In 2025, the Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship awarded over $45,000 in total to our top applicants, representing winners from various collegiate aviation programs across the United States

A message from our former President, current Board Member, and retired United Airlines Captain, Tom Bush:

"This past week, I had the honor and privilege to accompany three Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund supporters in a state-of-the-art Boeing 787 simulator at the United Airlines Training Center in Denver, Colorado.

Longtime donor Tracy Forst, along with Drew Puchi and David Hunter, had a great, memorable experience flying one of United's newest international aircraft. Our simulator instructor did a fantastic job representing United and demonstrating the 787's capabilities.

The Dahl Fund is eternally grateful to United for their continued support, supplying two-hour simulator experiences for scholarship fundraising.

Jason Dahl was the captain of United Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, when the passengers and crew paid the ultimate sacrifice, preventing terrorists from reaching their intended target of Washington, D.C.

The Captain Jason Dahl Fund was created to honor Jason and all the heroes of 9/11 by offering scholarships to young student aviators pursuing their dreams.

A special thanks goes out to Training Center Manager Eileen Tanaka for her coordination in making this event happen so smoothly.

This September 11th will mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11  and the Dahl Fund has already received over 130 qualified applicants from candidates attending universities nationwide."

This Thanksgiving, we all reflected on the many things we are grateful for. For us here at the Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund, we are grateful for you.

Since the fund's inception, our volunteers have spent countless hours building a foundation to support the future of aviation in memory of Captain Jason M. Dahl.

On Saturday, September 6th, 2025, The Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund celebrated our premier winners of this year's scholarship.

Our premier winners and their guests were invited to attend the award ceremony at The Perfect landing Restaurant located at The Centennial Airport in Englewood, Colorado. Prior to attending the award ceremony, our premier winners were also invited to attend a guided tour of the United Airlines Flight Training Center, with a special emphasis on viewing the various United 93 memorials located in and around the training center.

This year, our guest speaker was United B757/767 Captain Paul Holte, , who spoke to our guests about his introduction to the aviation industry, his previous experience, and his current role as a Captain at a Major U.S. Airline.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Captain Holte for attending this event, a thank you to The Perfect Landing Restaurant for hosting our event, and a thank you to volunteers at the United Airlines Flight Training Center for hosting the tour for our guests.

This Thursday marks the 24th anniversary of the September 11th attacks in the United States. We ask all of our followers to keep each of the victims of the attacks in your thoughts.

The Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship fund is committed to supporting the future of aviation and looks forward to next year's scholarship season.

Congratulations to our winners of the 2025 Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship!

This year's application was our most competitive on record, with over 700 applications received from over 30 collegiate aviation universities.

This year, we are proud to announce that we have awarded over $48,000 in scholarship awards to 15 incredibly deserving recipients, the most amount awarded in our organization's 24 year history.

We are grateful for your interest and support, and we look forward to being able to continue to support the next generation of aviators in memory of Captain Jason Dahl.
