When Atzi completed her GED at The HUB, the next question was: What comes next?

Through conversations with staff about her interests and goals, we learned that Atzi was curious about a career in engineering. That curiosity opened the door to something powerful, community connections.

The HUB was able to connect Atzi with local professionals working in the engineering field who are passionate about helping young people, especially young women, see engineering as a career path where they can belong, succeed, and make an impact.

For Atzi, earning her GED was more than reaching a milestone. It was the beginning of exploring new possibilities and imagining a future she may not have considered before.

This is what The HUB is all about: meeting young people where they are, listening to their goals, and helping build the connections that turn possibilities into next steps. 💙

We’re excited to see where Atzi’s curiosity takes her next!

🥕🌱 From Garden to Table! 🍅👩‍🍳

There’s something special about growing your own food and then learning how to turn it into a delicious meal!

Young people at The HUB are getting hands-on experience in the kitchen through cooking classes in partnership with . Even better? Many of the vegetables they’re cooking with were grown right here in The HUB’s garden!

Young people are building critical life skills, learning about nutrition, food preparation, budgeting, kitchen safety, and the confidence that comes from creating something for themselves.

From planting the seeds to preparing the recipes, it’s a full-circle opportunity to learn, connect, and grow. 💚

We’re grateful to UNL Extension for helping us equip young people with practical skills that support independence and success one recipe at a time!
