Nebraska Family Alliance exists to advance family, freedom, and life by influencing policy, mobilizing prayer, and empowering people. What happens at the Nebraska State Capitol impacts real lives. NFA works with state legislators and other elected officials at all levels of government to ensure that Nebraska’s public policies promote foundational principles. Our vision is to create a Nebraska where:

Human life is cherished and protected from from conception to natural death. Marriages and families thrive and are strengthened and supported by public policy. Religious freedom is affirmed and celebrated, free from government interference. Nebraska Family Alliance is policy, research, and educational non-profit organization governed by a joint board of directors. NFA is the state affiliate of Focus on the Family, Family Research Council, Alliance Defending Freedom, and works with other national organizations to bring national expertise to local issues.

Here's the math behind the ads the sports betting companies don't want you to know: Big promises. Small returns. Real consequences. 📉

That $166 million in "tax relief" is spread over 10 years, amounting to $16 million a year or 0.3% of Nebraska's annual $5 billion property tax burden.

To generate that revenue at a 20% tax rate, Nebraskans would have to gamble and lose $830 million.

Don't let out-of-state gaming interests buy this election and rewrite our Constitution for their profit. Vote "Against" Initiatives 440 and 441. 🚫

Nebraska Family Alliance was honored to stand with Governor Jim Pillen as he signed an executive order ensuring that taxpayer dollars from programs to help families in need can't be used on po*******hy, alcohol, drugs, or gambling.

At a meeting on Tuesday night, the Fremont City Council voted to remove the hiring requirement that bars homeschool graduates from competing for city employment opportunities.

This decision is an important first step toward correcting an unjust policy that discriminates against homeschool graduates. NFA will continue defending educational freedom and the rights of families to pursue an education that aligns with their needs and values.

“Homeschooling is more than just a lawful education option that continues to grow in Nebraska; it is a fundamental right of parents,” said Nate Grasz of Nebraska Family Alliance. “Families should never be punished by the government for choosing it. NFA is pursuing and supporting corrective action to ensure homeschool graduates receive equal opportunity and that the rights of parents and families are protected.”

A homeschool graduate who has served his community as a volunteer firefighter should not be disqualified from a full-time position simply because he was homeschooled.

That’s what happened to 22-year-old Andrew Coates in Fremont.

Andrew has served as a volunteer firefighter for two years, is a state-licensed EMT, and is taking college courses with a 3.8 GPA. Yet the City of Fremont disqualified him from consideration for a full-time firefighter position because he was homeschooled.

Homeschooling is more than just a lawful education option. It is a fundamental right of parents, and families should never be punished by the government for choosing it.

We are working to help correct this unjust policy and are encouraged that a resolution will be introduced at the Fremont City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 29, to change the city’s hiring policy and ensure homeschool graduates are not discriminated against.

Please contact the Fremont City Council and urge them to support Resolution No. 2026-256!
