Today the NSF represented the outdoor community at the state capitol! Gov. Pillen signed a proclamation of September 26, 2026 as National Hunting and Fishing Day. Thank you to Gov. Pillen for his support to the hunting and fishing community. Dustin Allemann shared remarks with the following representing the outdoor community. Sen. URGENT: Is Your Hunting Tradition Next?

We typically focus on local issues, but a new amendment to the Federal Farm Bill has reached a tipping point. As written, this amendment threatens to make hunting with sight hounds illegal.

While this specifically targets sight hounds now, we have to ask: where does it stop? If one traditional hunting method is banned today, which one is "unintended" for tomorrow?
