Hope on 5th Regional Housing and Supportive Services supports Hope on 5th.

Hope on 5th promotes community welfare and provides shelter to central Illinois veterans, homeless and those at risk of homelessness through offering services and housing on an emergency, temporary, transitional, and permanent basis. RHSS’s mission is to promote community welfare, and to provide shelter and services to central Illinois veterans, the homeless and those at risk of homelessness through offering supportive services and housing on an emergency, temporary, transitional, and permanent basis. RHSS’s vision is to provide emergency, temporary, and transitional housing for veterans and all others in need that leads to permanent housing.

Hope on 5th continues to work to help those in our community who are experience homelessness establish stable housing. This is accomplished by providing a clean, safe place to stay while providing needed support to move on. Currently there are 22 men, women and children staying at Hope on 5th and working toward living independently. 13 people are now on the waiting list. Help Hope on 5th help others through donations of needed supplies. Every little bit helps! Thank you! 🏠 Let’s challenge the myths about homelessness.

Homelessness is more complicated than the stereotypes we often hear. People can lose stable housing because of unaffordable housing, job loss, health challenges, domestic violence, family emergencies, and many other circumstances.

And homelessness doesn’t always mean living on the streets. Many people stay in shelters, vehicles, temporary accommodations, or with friends and family.

Most importantly, people experiencing homelessness are not defined by addiction, danger, or a lack of motivation. They are people facing difficult circumstances who deserve dignity, compassion, and support.
