Members of the Lima Exchange Club held our weekly meeting at the Allen County Fair today and had the chance to hear from various elected officials about current projects in the county. We also heard from Sheriff Matt Treglia and Lima Police Lt. Ben Thompson primarily on the latest crime fighting weapon both agencies now have - drones. We had a chance to meet Allen County Fair Royalty as well as one of the 4-H projects. A special “thank you” to Randy Kohli, a member of our club, for organizing our meeting today.

It’s with great sadness that we share news of the passing of long-time Lima Exchange Club member Joe DaPore. Joe, who was 95, was a 45-year member of our club and most notably known for his role as the co-chair to our Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Luncheon along with our club founder, Jack Somerville. Joe was an attorney in Lima for 65 years. Just one of Joe’s many passions was Scouting. Joe was an Eagle Scout who went on to serve as an adult leader in various leadership positions including as president of the Shawnee Council and Black Swamp Council. Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe’s family.
