A new University of Kentucky program is betting that a beloved Kentucky animal can be the hook that pulls more students into science-based careers.

We have just the thing! The Lexington Equine Medical Group Hunter Pace will take place on 𝙎𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙮, 𝙎𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 5 𝙖𝙣𝙙 6 at the Kentucky Horse Park. We promise you a good time! 💘

𝑱𝒖𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝑵𝒐𝒏-𝒋𝒖𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑭𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚/𝑷𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 divisions will be pinned through sixth on BOTH days (with some GREAT prizes for the top three teams in each!!); as well as special awards for 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗲.

⏱️The first few minutes in any emergency are critical, and horse owners are often at a loss in knowing what to do before a veterinarian and emergency response teams arrive.

🚨To help horse and farm owners, trainers and farm managers prepare for the unthinkable, the is proud to announce a 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 focused on equipping them with skills to safely manage high-stakes situations before help arrives. 🚨

This class will be taught by Tori McLeod of 4Hooves Large Animal Services on 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟲, 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟲-𝟵 𝗣𝗠 at the Horse Park. It will include in-classroom and equine model demonstrations.

Topic included will be:
🐎Procuring supplies to have on-hand in case an emergency occurs
🐎Gathering information first responders need to best prepare for the situation
🐎Understanding equine behavior under stress
🐎Mitigating risks to people and animals
🐎Handling of emergency scenarios like a cast horse, trailer turnovers, sinkhole entrapment and more

Dinner will be included. Cost is $75 per person.
