Within a few months of Duc's birth in rural Vietnam, his worried parents knew that something was wrong. Their difficulties only increased when his countryside doctors diagnosed severe cerebral palsy.
With that diagnosis, the family's life became a heartbreaking cycle. His parents would find a new doctor — somehow pay for another examination — and return home crushed by the report that Duc would never walk, speak, or engage with the world around him.
𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻, 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗛𝗢𝗣𝗘 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿.
That terrible cycle was broken when Duc was admitted to our sponsor-supported Hope Therapy Center. Through God's grace and our partners' prayers, Duc has progressed — slowly, but praise God, he has progressed!
Targeted exercises strengthened Duc's core and arm muscles. Therapists equipped with a special tablet helped him learn his first words. Now he can speak and understand several words! His mom wept when she first heard "me" and "bo" (mom and dad).
Therapists and Duc have worked hard — and continue to work hard. He can count to 50! It's almost miraculous. He recognizes and speaks the names of colors. He understands the difference between different coins and denominations of paper money. Best of all, he's still learning.

The Father's promise of restoration is sure for Duc and the other 30 children at Hope Therapy Center. But prayer and financial investments are needed.
