The Exceller Fund The focus of TEF's program is on "Racing Warriors", Thoroughbreds with upwards of 100 starts or more.

The Exceller Fund acquires Thoroughbred horses that might be at risk for slaughter and works to "provide a future beyond the finish line" once they have completed their racing careers. They are the backbone of the racing industry and have earned their retirement. Yet, they are often left with nowhere to go after having been passed among so many different people over the years and have limited adoption potential due to wear and tear from their long athletic careers. Hence, TEF is here to offer them a soft landing and lifetime retirement when necessary.

We are so incredibly grateful to have been included in this special group or organizations again this year. Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) does such amazing work for both equines and humans on the backside of the track (and their families) alike. They are a wonderful organization and group of people. We are honored to work with them and that they are assisting us to continue our mission of "Providing a Future Beyond the Finish Line" for our retired Racing Warriors and Golden Girls.

Each year, TCA’s grant program puts the generosity of our donors to work throughout the Thoroughbred community. In 2026, more than $600,000 was awarded to 96 organizations, including Thoroughbred aftercare and programs serving backstretch and farm employees, equine-assisted therapy organizations, and more. For 36 years, this support has remained at the heart of our mission, with more than $29 million awarded in grants since 1990. We are grateful to our donors for their continued support and the organizations carrying out this important work. ❤️
