Congrats Dr Steve Parker. Paris High Class of ‘71.

DR. STEVE PARKER | MULTIPLE SPORTS 🏈🏆
University of Kentucky

From a four-sport athlete to a groundbreaking coach and educator, Dr. Steve Parker has spent his career changing the game for Lexington athletes.

A High School All-American football player at Paris High School, Parker went on to play for the University of Kentucky before making history as Fayette County’s first African-American head football coach of the integrated era.

During 10 years leading Bryan Station football, he helped more than 30 players earn college scholarships. His influence extended beyond the sidelines as he developed an athletic-training model that expanded across Fayette County high schools and directed UK’s National Youth Sports Program for 11 years.

Parker didn’t simply coach athletes—he helped build systems designed to protect, educate and prepare them.

🔥 Welcome to the Lexington African-American Sports Hall of Fame, Dr. Steve Parker!
