The KVCA releases its Final Boys Volleyball Poll of the 2026 season. The 2026 KHSAA State Champion St. Xavier Tigers end the season the #1 team in the state followed by Trinity, Ryle, DeSales, and West Jessamine in that order. First place votes at noted in parenthesis.

Polls are conducted and distributed by the KVCA.

Coach Heather Kidd of Ryle High School is the 2026 KVCA Boys Coach of the Year. Kidd has coached the Tigers to a 17-3 record and a Region 6 Championship. Ryle’s season continues Friday as they take on St. Xavier in the KHSAA Boy Volleyball State Tournament Quarterfinals.

Junior libero, Wyatt Bourke of Oldham County High School is the 2026 KVCA Boys Defensive Player of the Year. Bourke receives the award after achieving over 220 digs this season and helping his team reach the KHSAA State Tournament. Bourke is the first athlete awarded the KVCA Boys Defensive Player of the Year to a student-athlete at Oldham County High School.

Briley Codey of Saint Xavier High School in Louisville is the 2026 Mr. Kentucky Volleyball for the second straight year. Codey, a senior outside hitter, has led the Tigers as a pin hitter. As of May 10, Codey is 5th in the state in kills per set with 4.01 and 269 kills total. Codey is the only athlete to be named KVCA Mr. Kentucky Volleyball in the brief history of the award.

The 2026 KHSAA Boys’ Volleyball State Tournament begins at school host sites today!

The winners of the opening round will travel to George Rogers Clark High School in Wi******er on Friday for the quarterfinals. The semifinals and championship will be played on Saturday at GRC.

The KVCA is proud to announce its second annual Region Players and Region Coaches of the Year. All recipients will be honored at the 2026 KHSAA State Tournament at George Rogers Clark High School in Wi******er during ceremonies between the semi-final matches on Saturday, May 16.
