Congratulations to All That Jazz (Northern Jazz), the 2026 T.I.P. Thoroughbred of the Year Honoree!

A successful hunter, jumper, and equitation horse in his younger years, Jazz now shines in a different role, helping riders of all experience levels succeed through the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. His steady nature, adaptability, and kindhearted personality have made him a favorite among riders and earned him IHSA Zone 3 Region 4 Horse of the Year honors for the past two years.

As coach of Jazz's home Alvernia University Equestrian Team, owner Eryn Ziegler says: “He's the horse that comes around once in a lifetime, and we are so fortunate to have him with the Alvernia University team.”

Congratulations to Addyson Machese, recipient of the 2026 T.I.P. Young Rider Award! 🏆

Addyson's journey with Thoroughbreds has been shaped by dedication, resilience, and a love for the breed. After the loss of her beloved Thoroughbred Gouda (Maid the Journey), she began a new chapter with Feta (Russian Ekati), and through months of groundwork, training, and teamwork, the pair made their way to the 2026 T.I.P. Championships where they finished third and High Point Junior Rider.
in the Open Crossrails Division.

Addyson shared: “Winning this means so much to me. Writing this essay gave me the opportunity to share Gouda’s story and how much he impacted my life and my love for horses. He was such a special horse; so much of what he taught me has fostered my relationship with Feta. I'm so honored that my story resonated with others, and I hope this award can be a way to honor Gouda's memory and everything he meant to me.”

Congratulations, Addyson! ❤️

The 2026 T.I.P. Thoroughbred of the Year is Fury!

Known on the racetrack as Junglist, Fury retired in 2021 and was matched through Turning For Home with Special Equestrians. After two years of training and desensitization, he became an active therapy horse and now serves both mounted and unmounted participants.

“The responsiveness of retired racehorses is especially valuable for the people that we serve,” says Janice Witt, Executive Director of Special Equestrians, “especially individuals with autism and mental health conditions. OTTBs have phenomenal focus and work ethic when given the care, time and attention they deserve, making them great candidates for healing work.”

Congratulations to Fury, Special Equestrians, and everyone who helped him find a meaningful second career.
