🎨 Community partnerships for the win! 💛

This past week, we teamed up with two great partners, Gatton Park On The Town Branch and Picadome Elementary , to create a special experience for 75 third graders. ✨

Students began their day with a visit to God's Pantry to learn about food insecurity, then headed to Gatton Park where they joined us for hands on art activities and creativity.

We are so grateful for partnerships like these that bring education, creativity, and community together. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible! 🎨🌟🤝

🎨 We just wrapped up another incredible semester at one of our favorite community partners, The Audrey Grevious Center 💛

Our wonderful Lead Instructor Meredith Clark-Coffey guided students through so many creative projects this semester, including this recent sewing activity 🧵✨ We loved the creativity, focus, and talent the students bring to each class.

The Audrey Grevious Center provides students who have been committed to the DJJ or are court-ordered to attend with a smaller learning environment, individualized support, counseling services, and opportunities to continue working toward their high school diploma. We are so grateful to continue partnering with their team to help create meaningful creative experiences for youth in their program 🎨

🎨 We loved collaborating with one of our favorite community partners, Urban Impact Lexington, on artwork connected to National Youth Violence Prevention Week ✨

During the project, our wonderful Program Coordinator Gray led students through a collaborative painting activity that encouraged creativity, reflection, and self expression 💛 The Leadership Academy’s Art Showcase at Woodhill Community Center featured incredible student artwork, spoken word, poetry, dance, and more as young people used art to ensure their voices were truly seen and heard.

🎨 Save the date! We’re so excited to host the reception for our Vibrantly Grey project, made possible through a generous grant from the Kentucky Foundation for Women. ✨

Through this project, women ages 55 and up explored powerful themes like wisdom, identity, and memory by creating framed quotes, expressive self portraits, and personal memory paintings 🎨💛 These art experiences created space to learn new skills, share stories of aging, and challenge assumptions by celebrating the voices, creativity, and value of older women in our community.

Join us on May 21 from 5 to 7 PM at the Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning for light snacks and great local art—we’d love to see you there!
