Tonight the Bryan Station Symphonic Band performed at the University of Louisville for the KMEA State Band Festival. They played “Ride” by Sam Hazo and “Danzón No. 2” by Arturo Marquez, earning a Distinguished rating from all judges. Congratulations to the many soloists and to each ensemble member who played their role beautifully. Thanks to UofL Bands and Dr. Speck for hosting!

Spring Concert is Wednesday! Jazz, percussion, and chamber ensembles, concert and symphonic bands! This concert is also our KMEA State Festival preview for Jazz (performing Hayburner, Touchstone, and The Chicken) and Symphonic (performing Hazo’s “Ride” and the Marquez “Danzón No. 2”). 6pm Wednesday at BSHS!

Time to start sharing some news! We’re proud to have earned the NAMM Foundation’s “Best Community for Music Education” designation for the third year in a row. Thank you to all of our BSHS community for being a part of our success. Want to come see a concert and help us celebrate? Symphonic Band is finishing preparations for District 7 KMEA Assessment next week. Come hear Malcolm Arnold’s “Prelude, Siciliano, and Rondo” and Joaquin Turina’s “La Procession du Rocio” at 7pm Tuesday night in the Scott County HS Auditorium.
