I’m financially caring for our 8 dogs still waiting for foster and adopt. It’s terribly difficult. I have had to delay care for my own pets to put our rescues first. With work, the flood, family, and everything else flying my way, I have not had time to promote our babies. I could sure use help.

We are out of food again. It’s tough paying for it solo at $15+ a day just for food. That doesn’t include a new kennel we need, pads to keep kennels from being slick and cold, upcoming scheduled vaccinations, and monthly preventives that will be due shortly. We have daily expenses for platforms and registrations as well. I am so glad no emergencies have come up.

We have not been advertising or holding events due to my schedule and shortage of help. It takes a few people to make these things happen. With us being quiet lately, people have forgotten about us a bit. We have had no donations or receipt of any care packages. 📦 The food that came in last month was such a help. I can’t thank you enough, yet it has been exhausted yet again.

We have two that are still in need of neutering and I have held off to preserve the funding. I also need help with scheduling. My son leaves for school at 6:45 and I have to be at work at 7am. I can’t transport them to the clinic by 8:30am when it’s scheduled. If I had someone assisting, I could get that done.

I’m hoping we can get some help with these babies. Some have been with us over two years. They need their own homes. A foster before would be great. That would be amazing for them and also free up some of my time to do more for our pups with a smaller head count.

I would be so grateful if anyone can assist in any way. Whether it’s assisting with transport, advertising and networking, donating, getting our dogs out for show and tell, or exercise.

If you can assist in any way, please reach out at We Are Zeus.

We have ways to help with our needs. We have wish lists for regular items and food. If you send anything from Chewy, please leave your name in notes. Without it, they will not see the purchase in case of damage or failure to receive.

Another Nala needed saved today. She deserve help! She has a $500 sponsor so far.

UPDATE: RESCUE SECURED 👏 👏

10/12: We have a kind sponsor who is willing to pay for Nala's assessment. She will be taken in tomorrow AM. She will still need a rescue. Her deadline is extended until tomorrow at 5pm.

UPDATE: $500 SPONSOR TO RESCUE THAT PULLS AND HELPS SAVE NALA 🙏 🙏 🙏
Thank you so much Pawsitively Orangeburg!!!

🚨🆘 URGENT RESCUE NEEDED FOR NALA — DEADLINE 10/13 at 5pm 🆘🚨

💔 Nala needs help NOW. Her life may depend on someone stepping up for her today.

This sweet girl is estimated to be 5–6 years old and heartworm negative. Nala is still wagging her tail and happily greeting us. 🥺❤️ She wants to be loved, and she deserves the chance to experience so much more than a shelter. Her story should not end here.

We suspect Nala may have been struck by a car. She is unable to use one of her back legs, and because of her size and limited mobility, she is struggling to support herself and cannot get around on her own.

Nala needs immediate rescue so she can receive the continued medical care she desperately needs. After further medical evaluation, we know she needs more than what we can provide her at this time.

⏰ RESCUE DEADLINE: TODAY AT 5 PM!

She needs someone willing to see past her medical needs and give her a chance. A rescue organization, medical foster, or other appropriate placement could be the difference between life and death for this girl.

🙏 PLEASE HELP US SAVE NALA!

🐾 Can you rescue her?
🐾 Can you help us find a rescue that can take her?
🐾 Can you share this post so it reaches the right person before time runs out?

*Warning* The details are disturbing. THIS is why we stay angry. Why did this go on for so long when there were witnesses? He is a psychopath and needs to be caged away from humans. The first time he did any of this there should have been someone ELSE in a mugshot in an orange jumpsuit getting GFM donations for their legal representation! 😡

BAY COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL EMPLOYEE ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE ANIMAL CRUELTY CHARGES

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of 36-year-old Cameron Howard following an investigation into allegations of animal cruelty involving animals in the care of Bay County Animal Control.

Howard, a former employee of Bay County Animal Control, was arrested on two counts of Animal Cruelty and one count of Aggravated Animal Cruelty.

The investigation began after Bay County Animal Control management received an anonymous report alleging Howard had been abusing and torturing animals and had bragged about the conduct. Animal Control and County Administration initiated an internal investigation and contacted the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

As part of the investigation, BCSO investigators interviewed all Animal Control employees and obtained sworn, recorded statements from multiple witnesses.

Investigators examined an incident that allegedly occurred on September 3, 2026, involving a small kitten that was being euthanized.

According to a witness who was present to assist with the procedure, the kitten was small enough that a procedure known as a “heart stick” was used to administer the euthanasia medication. The witness told investigators they observed the needle enter the kitten's heart and saw the needle moving with the kitten's heartbeat.

The witness then reported that, while the kitten was still alive, Howard inserted a second needle and syringe into the kitten's stomach and withdrew stomach fluid. According to the witness, Howard removed the syringe, allowing the fluid to spill onto the table. When questioned about the action, the witness said Howard laughed, stated he did not know why he had done it, and then re-injected the fluid into the kitten.

The witness told investigators that the medication used during the euthanasia procedure is a paralytic and that an animal may still be capable of experiencing pain even though it cannot physically react.

Another incident occurred in approximately May or June 2026. A dog that was scheduled to be euthanized escaped from the euthanasia room, and employees attempted to safely restrain the animal. A witness told investigators that while she was attempting to catch the dog with a catch pole, Howard approached and raised his catch pole above his head with both hands before striking the dog in the spine.

The witness reported that the dog temporarily became paralyzed, collapsed and began having a seizure. Another Animal Control employee reportedly witnessed the incident.

In another incident approximately 2 weeks ago, Howard became angry with a dog that was being restrained with a catch pole in the euthanasia room. According to the witness, Howard lifted the catch pole over his head with both hands and swung the dog, which was still attached to the pole, over his shoulder and onto the ground. The witness said the dog appeared stunned following the incident.

The witness also described other instances over the years in which Howard allegedly lost his temper with animals and handled them in an inhumane manner.

Howard was located at his residence and taken into custody. He was transported to the Bay County Jail.

Howard faces the following charges:
- Two counts of Animal Cruelty
- One count of Aggravated Animal Cruelty

“Bay County takes allegations involving employee conduct and the treatment of animals very seriously. We appreciate Sheriff Ford’s immediate assistance in investigating this matter. This former employee’s actions were deeply disturbing and inconsistent with the standards expected of any county employee, particularly one entrusted with animal care. The individual’s employment with Bay County was terminated Tuesday afternoon, and he was subsequently arrested. To be clear: this behavior is entirely unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” Bay County Manager Joel Schubert said.

“I am absolutely disgusted by the allegations against Mr. Howard and the way these animals were treated,” said Sheriff Tommy Ford. “Animals in the care of our community deserve to be treated with compassion and dignity, particularly when they are already vulnerable and relying on the people entrusted with their care. These allegations are extremely disturbing, and we take them very seriously. We will continue working closely with County Administration as this case moves forward.”

The investigation remains ongoing.

It’s National Black Dog Day! 🖤 We just adore our licorice love bugs! Unfortunately for our dark dogs, they are the least loved in the rescue and adoption world. 😞 Black Dog Syndrome is real and it’s strange because they have the most beautiful glossy and shiny coats, those bright eyes and goofy personalities. One of our long time residents is Jerry. He came to us off a NC e-list along with another dog. That dog was long adopted two years ago. It’s not fair because Jerry “Lewis” is a great boy!

Jerry is a lab mix, almost 3 years old and about 50 tall pounds. He has legs for days and sleeps in his 42” kennel. He gets along with EVERYBODY and has never met a dog he won’t play with and show friendly manners. He loves sunshine until he pants and the snow is awesome. Forget the water!💦 It’s the devil! 😈 😆 He does well in the yard, in his kennel, in the car, on his leash and in your lap. He is a lanky loony and will bark and spin in his kennel when he gets excited. 😆

He is bonded with another dark baby, Eleanore “Elle” who was also dealt a bad hand. She is dark chocolate brown, not quite black, lab. They can be adopted together or solo.

Jerry is neutered, microchipped, fully vetted and current of preventatives and vaccines. He just needs a FOSTER and even a new forever home.

If you can spare some room and love for this handsome 🎩 boy, please reach out. 🖤
