Dickerson Children's Advocacy Center The Dickerson Children's Advocacy Center (DCAC) is a non-profit CAC providing therapeutic and investigative services to abused children and their families.

Our team recently had the opportunity to attend the Carolinas Seaside Symposium on Child Abuse, where we engaged with experts and professionals from across the field to deepen our understanding of child welfare, prevention, intervention, and trauma-informed practices. The symposium provided valuable insights into current research, emerging trends, and effective strategies for supporting the children and families we serve. Through educational sessions, collaborative discussions, and networking opportunities, our team gained knowledge that will enhance our work and strengthen our commitment to providing informed, compassionate, and effective services to those we serve. We are proud to recognize our Clinical Services Manager Emmy Leysath for presenting at this year's Carolinas Seaside Symposium on Child Abuse. Her presentation focused on strengthening partnerships between schools, Child Advocacy Centers (CACs), and multidisciplinary team (MDT) partners. The workshop highlighted the critical role schools play in identifying and responding to concerns of child abuse and explored strategies for building effective, sustainable collaboration among agencies. Participants gained practical tools for enhancing communication, aligning protocols, implementing trauma-informed practices, and creating coordinated, child-centered responses. Thank you, Emmy, for sharing your expertise and dedication to improving outcomes for children and families in our community.
