We are grateful to SCFOP Midlands Lodge #1 President Dale Jones for inviting us to speak at their meeting tonight and share the mission of The Haven.

We also had the opportunity to highlight our R U OK window cling initiative and how we're working to get these important reminders and resources into patrol vehicles across South Carolina.

To top off the evening, President Jones presented us with the Lodge's 50th Anniversary Challenge Coin!

Sometimes the best thing you can do is step away from the demands of the badge, slow down, and simply enjoy a little peace and quiet. 💙🖤

Despite the rainy weather last weekend, we were honored to welcome a law enforcement officer and his spouse from the CSRA region of our state to The Haven for a weekend of rest and respite.

Although the weather didn't fully cooperate, we still enjoyed some wonderful fellowship together on the porch, and they even managed to squeeze in a little fishing.

At The Haven, we believe that even heroes need saving. We are honored to serve active and retired law enforcement officers and their families by providing a peaceful place to step away from the demands of the profession, reconnect with loved ones, and simply take a moment to breathe.

In addition to respite stays, we also provide peer-to-peer support because sometimes the person who best understands what an officer is going through is someone who has walked in their shoes.

Our mission is to serve certified law enforcement officers, both active and retired, who hold Class 1 or Class 3 Advanced certification, or the equivalent certification for federal and out-of-state law enforcement officers, along with their families.

If you're an active or retired law enforcement officer and could use a little time away, someone to talk to, or simply a peaceful place to recharge, we would love to hear from you.

💙 🖤Another Agency Joining the Mission to Save a Hero! 💙🖤

We are excited to share that Sheriff Steve Mueller and Deputy Chief Billy Anthony of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office are the newest agency to partner with The Haven to place our R U OK? window clings in every patrol vehicle!

Today, we had the honor of meeting with Sheriff Mueller to present him with the window clings and thank him for his commitment to the health and well-being of his deputies.

Leadership matters, especially when it comes to officer wellness. By bringing this initiative to his department, Sheriff Mueller is sending a powerful message to his deputies that their mental health matters, that asking for help is a sign of strength, and that resources are available when they need them.

Our R U OK? window clings are designed to serve as a simple but powerful reminder during those quiet moments inside a patrol vehicle. Sometimes, the first opportunity an officer has to process a difficult call or a challenging shift is when they're sitting alone behind the wheel. We want that officer to see those three simple words, "aRe yoU OK?", and remember that they are not alone and that help is available.

We are incredibly thankful to Sheriff Mueller, Deputy Chief Anthony, and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office for recognizing the importance of officer wellness and partnering with us to help break the stigma surrounding mental health in law enforcement.

Because even heroes need saving. 💙🖤

This morning, we were honored to join Representative Chris Wooten and Representative MicahCaskey for their 8th Annual Heroes Breakfast!

We are always thankful for their continued support and their unwavering commitment to backing the blue and honoring the men and women who serve as first responders throughout our great state.

Sometimes what looks healthy on the outside can tell a very different story on the inside.

Late last summer, we noticed a large tree in front of the cabin was dropping its leaves earlier than it should. In February, our friends Dan and Tess Rebman—founders of Cup of Blue and parents of fallen South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Keith Rebman—helped us take the tree down.

Once it was on the ground, we discovered a large hollowed-out center. What appeared healthy on the outside was scarred and dying on the inside. The slightest storm could have caused the tree to fall on the cabin or harm those in its path.

After the tree was removed, our friends at Saluda Hill Landscapes | South Carolina stepped in to help us restore and upgrade the landscaping around the cabin, once again making it a beautiful and welcoming space for officers and their spouses to enjoy. We are incredibly thankful for their partnership and generous donation of the installation for this project, giving back to the officers and families we serve.

In many ways, this project reflects what we're doing here at The Haven—dealing with the damaged areas so they don't destroy us or those around us, while rebuilding something stronger and more beautiful in their place.

It's a reminder of 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."

There’s something incredibly humbling about realizing that the work God has called you to do is also the work you absolutely love doing.

We are beyond blessed to have spent this Saturday surrounded by our blue family at The Haven. Seeing the smiling faces, hearing the laughter, watching kids play, and seeing law enforcement families simply relax and enjoy time together—that’s what Family Fun Day is all about.

Today, we welcomed officers and their families from agencies across South Carolina, along with several retired officers from out of state. For a few hours, there were no calls to answer, no radios to listen to, and no worries about what might come next—just food, fun, fellowship, and time together as a family.

It truly was an amazing day.

We had over 100 attendees representing LEO families from 14 different agencies, including two retired officer families from out of state Lexington County Sheriff's Department Lexington Police Department Richland County Sheriff's Department South Carolina Highway Patrol Greenville County Sheriff's Office City of Barnwell Police Department Simpsonville Police Department Greenville Police Department South Carolina Department of Public Safety South Carolina Attorney General City of Cayce Police Department Camden PD East Orange Police Department NYPD

To our incredible volunteers who gave up their Saturday to serve and love on our LEO families: thank you. We simply could not host an event like this without you. Your willingness to serve these families means more than you know.

And lastly, to every law enforcement family who joined us today: thank you. Thank you for your service, your sacrifices, and everything your entire family gives because of the badge. We hope you felt how much you are appreciated and loved, and most of all, we hope you enjoyed a day created just for YOU.

🚔💙 Another agency putting Officer Wellness front and center! 🖤🚔

We’re excited to announce our partnership with the Aiken County Code Enforcement Department as they join The Haven’s R U OK? Window Cling Initiative.

Training Officer Tillman Rushton reached out to us because he wanted to make sure this resource was available to every law enforcement officer in their department. We were honored to provide clings for their entire fleet of 17 patrol vehicles.

The R U OK? window clings are intentionally placed inside patrol vehicles—where officers spend countless hours and often have some of their first quiet moments after a difficult call. Each cling serves as a simple reminder to ask yourself, “aRe yoU OK?” and provides immediate access to resources when the answer might be “No.”

Sometimes that small reminder, in the right place at the right time, can make a difference. That’s why our goal is to see these clings in every patrol vehicle we can reach.

A huge thank you to Tillman for recognizing the importance of looking after the officers he serves alongside and to The Haven board member Mike McCormick for meeting with Tillman and helping us get these clings where they belong.
