God Values Your Life
God is a God of life. From Genesis to Revelation, He consistently protects, rescues, and restores His people. That’s why it’s essential to confront a hard truth: God never designed marriage or friendship to destroy your joy or endanger your life. Abuse—physical, emotional, or psychological—is not love. It is darkness masquerading as affection.
In Jeremiah 8:4–7, God confronts people who keep repeating harmful patterns: “Do people fall down and not get up?... Why do these people go backwards and just keep going?” He is urging them to stop pretending, stop ignoring the danger, and turn around. God is protective. He does not glorify suffering that comes from someone else’s violence or instability.
Many people remain in destructive relationships because apologies follow the abuse. But repeated apologies without real transformation are not repentance. They are cycles. Real love doesn’t slap, scream, belittle, or break you. 1 Corinthians 13 reminds us that love is patient, kind, and not easily angered.
God treasures your life. He created you with purpose. Jesus said He came that you “may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). Abundant life is not lived under fear. Even Jesus withdrew from dangerous people at times (John 7:1). Stepping away from destruction is not faithlessness; it’s wisdom.
Today, you may feel torn between hope and reality, between the desire to help someone change and the pain their actions continue to cause. But God is asking you to value your life the way He values it. You matter to Him. Your safety and peace are His priority.
