Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember the lives lost, stand beside the families and friends who carry their memory, and honor those who continue to fight for recovery every day.

Every life lost to overdose is a life that mattered. Every person struggling with addiction deserves compassion, support, and the opportunity to find a new path forward.

At Stable Recovery, we believe recovery is possible, hope is powerful, and no one should have to walk this journey alone.

Today, we remember. We raise awareness. And we continue working toward a future where more lives are saved and more stories are given the chance to continue.

At Stable Recovery, horses are at the heart of what we do. ❤️🐴

Horses have a unique way of teaching us lessons that extend far beyond the barn. They require patience, trust, consistency, responsibility, and presence, all qualities that play an important role in building a strong foundation in recovery.

Through working alongside these incredible animals, our residents have the opportunity to rebuild confidence, develop meaningful connections, and discover a renewed sense of purpose. At Stable Recovery, the horse is more than part of the program, it’s part of the journey.

Recovery starts with connection, and sometimes that connection begins in the barn.

It’s Women’s Program Wednesday! ❤️

Today, we’re celebrating the strength, determination, and progress of the women at Stable Recovery. Every day brings new opportunities to grow, build confidence, learn new skills, and support one another along the journey of recovery.

From the barn to the community and everywhere in between, these women continue to show what can happen when you combine hard work, connection, and a second chance. We’re so proud of how far they’ve come, and even more excited for everything still ahead!

Stable Recovery is proud to be part of a much larger movement in recovery.

Over the past two years, we’ve experienced tremendous growth, from opening our women’s program and partnering with Spy Coast Farm for the Women’s School of Horsemanship to purchasing the Josh’s Landing property. Alongside these milestones, we are honored to have joined the World Federation of Therapeutic Communities (WFTC).

At the heart of Stable Recovery is the therapeutic community model, the belief that community itself can be a powerful agent of change. Here, recovery isn’t something anyone has to navigate alone. Our peers become brothers and sisters who challenge one another, encourage one another, celebrate one another’s successes, and genuinely invest in each other’s futures.

Our Clinical Director, Donard Dwyer, recently shared a deeper look at the therapeutic community model, how it serves as a foundation of Stable Recovery, and what our connection to the WFTC means for the future.

We’re proud of the community we’ve built here in the Bluegrass, and even more excited to see how that connection can extend far beyond Kentucky.

We are so excited and honored that the NTWAB has chosen Stable Recovery to receive the Bill Mooney Award. This award recognizes those who have demonstrated "courage in the face of tremendous adversity."

In honoring Stable Recovery, the NTWAB specifically credits those graduates who have successfully reclaimed their lives.

Team Golden Tempo, Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez, the late turf writer Mary Rampellini, the broadcast team from TVG and FanDuel Racing, and the graduates of Stable Recovery will be honored during the NTWAB Annual Awards Dinner.

It’s Wishlist Wednesday! ❤️

There are so many ways to support Stable Recovery, and sometimes the simplest items can make a big difference. Our Amazon Wishlist is filled with everyday needs that help us continue creating a comfortable and supportive environment for the men and women in our program.

If you’re looking for a way to give back this week, consider purchasing an item from our wishlist. Every contribution helps us continue our mission and reminds our residents just how much support they have behind them.

Help us check something off the list this Wednesday! ❤️

Congratulations to Joey D. on graduating from the Taylor Made School of Horsemanship! Joey has worked hard throughout his time in the program, and we’re proud to celebrate this important milestone with him. Graduating from the School of Horsemanship is a reflection of the dedication, consistency, and effort he has put into continuing to move forward and build a strong foundation for his future.

Joey is also beginning an exciting new chapter working in the Maintenance Division at Juddmonte. We’re grateful for partners like Juddmonte who provide meaningful employment opportunities and support our men as they continue building successful lives in recovery.

This past weekend, Stable Recovery proudly celebrated three of our newest Legacy graduates: Shelton M, Joe P, and Garrett B.

Becoming a Legacy represents one of the highest achievements at Stable Recovery. It marks the completion of a full year in our program, a year built on hard work, accountability, perseverance, and a commitment to creating a new way of life.

Each of these men has taken his own path forward. Shelton M. is working with Sallee Horse Transportation, Joe P. is working at Keeneland, and Garrett B. is working with Valley Interior. We are incredibly proud to see them continuing to build their futures and carry the values they have strengthened throughout their time at Stable Recovery into the next chapter of their lives.

One of the most meaningful parts of the evening was having their families there to celebrate alongside them. Recovery impacts far more than one person, and being able to share this milestone with the people who have supported and encouraged them made the night even more special.

Congratulations to Shelton, Joe, and Garrett on earning the title of Stable Recovery Legacy. We are proud of how far you have come, excited for where you are headed, and honored to have you as part of the Stable Recovery Legacy.

Your journey continues, and your legacy is just beginning.
