Last evening, we celebrated two more graduates from the Taylor Made School of Horsemanship, Jason B. and Russell P. We are proud of all their hard work and excited for them as they continue on their journeys.

Russell has accepted a full-time position with the maintenance department at Spy Coast Farm, and Jason will be joining Stable Recovery full-time. Congratulations to both of these outstanding young men — we can’t wait to see all they accomplish!

We are excited to welcome Kelly Payton as the new Women’s School of Horsemanship Program Director at Stable Recovery!

A Kentucky native, Kelly grew up with a deep love for horses and experienced firsthand the healing power they can bring to everyday life. While enrolled in the ASL Interpreter Training Program at Eastern Kentucky University, she was introduced to equine therapy through an internship at the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and the Blind (AIDB).

After graduation, Kelly joined AIDB’s therapeutic equine program, the Marianna Greene Henry Special Equestrian Program (MGH), where she served as an Instructor Assistant and Student Worker Program Coordinator. It was there that she discovered her passion for equine-assisted healing and the life-changing impact it can have on individuals and communities.

Kelly is thrilled to return to her home state and join the Stable Recovery team. She sees each day as an opportunity to build meaningful connections and help facilitate healing experiences through horsemanship. Kelly believes that true healing comes from the horses themselves and from the work we do as their stewards.

Please join us in giving Kelly a warm welcome to the Stable Recovery family!

Last Friday evening, we gathered at Stable Recovery, Josh’s Landing, to celebrate and honor the life of Carroll M. Carroll was the very first legacy of Stable Recovery, and his presence left a lasting impact on our entire community. Through his strength, resilience, and heart, he inspired so many people throughout his journey and became a reminder of hope and perseverance for others.

The evening was filled with love, memories, and reflection as friends, family, and members of the Stable Recovery community came together to remember the incredible person Carroll was. His kindness, laughter, and spirit touched countless lives, and his legacy will continue to live on within Stable Recovery and in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Carroll will be missed dearly and remembered always.
