📣 Hey College Students 📣

Will your school be the next winners of the Dempsey Challenge College Cup?!

Each year, teams from colleges throughout Maine and around the country compete to be the winners of the College Cup. Working as a team, they raise the most money for the mission of the Dempsey Center and earn the title on Dempsey Challenge Day.

Winners not only get bragging rights for a year, but they also get to take a picture with Patrick Dempsey as they receive their award.

It’s a little friendly competition with a BIG impact. Every dollar you raise helps provide no-cost support, care, and services to people impacted by cancer.

Round up your friends. Rally your campus. Start fundraising.

Connect with other men who understand the ups, downs, challenges, and uncertainties that can come with cancer in our upcoming support groups and series designed specifically for male-identifying clients.

Men's Cancer Support Group

Virtually via Dempsey Connects
Led by Eric Lutz, LCSW

This group offers honest conversation and practical coping strategies to help you navigate a diagnosis, treatment, or survivorship. Whether you want to share or just listen, you’ll find understanding, connection, and encouragement here.

It's Your Life: Living with Intention
Thursdays, September 10th - October 22nd, 5:00 - 6:45 PM
Dempsey Center - Rock Row Health Campus
Led by Yosh Beier, Certified Hakomi Therapist, Mediator, and Executive Coach

A cancer diagnosis can bring that realization uncomfortably close. But it also can offer a sobering clarity. It creates a rare opening to step back from the roles, expectations, and old scripts that have shaped your life and ask some honest questions: What really matters to me now? How do I want to use the time I have? What does it mean to live my life?

It’s Your Life is a six-week reflective workshop series for men at any stage of the cancer journey. Through guided reflection, small-group conversation, and honest sharing, we’ll explore how to bring the clarity that can come with facing cancer into the choices we make about how we want to live. There are no recipes and no right answers—just an opportunity to explore these questions alongside other men who are asking some of them, too.

It's National Dog Day and today, we’re celebrating the four-legged friends who bring comfort, joy and a little extra love to the Dempsey Center. 💙

Our Dempsey Dogs are more than adorable faces—they’re Pet Partners-certified dogs who provide moments of connection, calm, and companionship to people impacted by cancer.

Whether they’re offering a quiet cuddle, a wagging tail, or simply sitting by someone’s side, these incredible pups have a way of making hard days feel a little lighter.

Give a paws-up for our amazing Dempsey Dogs and the wonderful teams who make their work possible! 🐾 Let them know how much you love them in the comments!

We are thrilled to share that NBA legend Reggie Miller () is coming to Dempsey Challenge 2026!

A Basketball Hall of Famer, five-time NBA All-Star, and one of the greatest clutch shooters in NBA history, Reggie will be joining us for a weekend that’s all about coming together For Every Story. 💙

Drafted by Indiana in 1987, Reggie spent his entire 18-year career with the Pacers. Reggie finished his career as the NBA's all-time leader in three-point field goals at the time and remains one of the league's most celebrated long-range shooters. Beyond the court, Reggie has become a familiar voice in sports broadcasting as NBC's Lead NBA game analyst. You may also know him from his newest passion as a semi-pro cyclist, competing in races all over the country.

And now he's prepping to take on Dempsey Challenge 🚴

Champions can catch Reggie at Night of Love and Light where he will be joining us as a guest speaker and everyone can see Reggie at Challenge where he plans to take on one of our cycling routes.

Get ready. This is going to be one for the storybooks. 💙

Experience the Dempsey Center at our upcoming public workshop, Connect + Experience: Blackout Poetry!

Blackout poetry is a creative writing practice where participants transform existing text, often from old books, into poetry by selecting meaningful words and obscuring the rest. This reflective, low-pressure art form encourages mindfulness, emotional expression, and a sense of control, offering a calming space for processing difficult experiences and finding unexpected moments of connection and creativity. We invite you to join us for a relaxing cup of tea while you learn something new and easy. No experience necessary.
