One of the greatest joys at Common Ground is seeing people discover the blessing of serving others. 💛
We welcomed a new volunteer who jumped right in and helped serve more than 100 meals! Recently retired, she shared that she was looking for something meaningful to do—and we were so grateful she chose to spend her time with us.
Having lived in this community her entire life, she has a deep compassion for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. As she served meals, she was moved to tears by the people she met and by the opportunity to offer not only food, but also kindness and dignity. She was especially thankful for the little extras we were able to share with those who needed them most.
Moments like these remind us why Common Ground exists. We want every person who walks through our doors—whether they are receiving help, volunteering, or donating—to feel welcomed, valued, safe, and cared for. We believe that a warm smile, a listening ear, and a shared meal can communicate love in powerful ways.
We're also reminded that none of this happens on our own. God continues to provide the food, the volunteers, the resources, and the space that make this ministry possible.
✨If you've ever considered volunteering, know that the impact goes both ways. Often, those who come to serve leave feeling just as blessed as those they came to help. 💛

We know how busy this time of year is, so we are very appreciative of all the support we receive! ✨Right now we are COMPLETELY out of body wash🧴 and brand new underwear🩲 and socks 🧦 for women and kids. Can you help? For convenience, our Amazon wish list link is in the comments.

Delaware City Schools is proud to offer the FREE summer lunch program at Woodward Elementary from June 1 - July 31. In order to have a successful program, we rely on the help of community volunteers.
